Root [International] S3 NeatROM

Just update to 4.1 myself. Still has stupid learning stock keyboard! Please please please get rid of this to the one were I can add words myself.

Seen way to many threads on people saying the same!

Apart from that very good!

Have you tried any 3rd party keyboards? There are dozens around so I'm sure there is one that could do what you are after

Yes I have but not keen on 4x3 layout. The point is we shouldnt have to download an alternative keyboard when the stock keyboard is a complete joke. I PM'd salesale on this and his reply lead me to believe he'd got rid of it and put the normal keyboard in Neatrom Lite 4.1

I don't know whose responsible for the learning keyboard but its one of the biggest backward steps ive ever seen in any update!
 
Did an older version of Neat have the old keyboard?
if so, just flash that old version, back up the keyboard with Titanium or whatever, flash new version of neat, uninstall keyboard and install the old one :thumbup:

Just had a look at that link. Davoids advice sounded good. Did u try another file explorer like ES?

I've no idea if older version has it. Very new to this. Why can't salesale just get rid of this stock keyboard? Surely he must know about it and the hassle it's causing people out there
 
Can you give the specific keyboard version that you're after. I'm sure if you do sale will add it to the aroma.
 
Like I say I'm new to all this. Basically a keyboard version before the 'learning' version. Want to be able to add my own words. This new version is impossible entering a word the phone doesn't know and turning predictive text off isn't the answer as it's way to slow

Just tried file explorer. Same result!

If i look at properties on the system/app folder it says, readable YES writeable NO hence why I can't copy the AKP file to that folder

So far ive used file slick and es file explorer

Ok ive manged to move the APK file to system/app folder.

What do I do next though as keyboard is still the same
 
Have you rebooted? If not do so. If that doesn't work just open the apk with your phone and it should ask if you want to install.

I now finally have a 4x3 keyboard were I can add words to the dictionary without random words popping up!

Once installed I did get a few error messages saying 'samsung keyboard has stopped working' but once I chose samsung keypad as the default keyboard it was fine

Should I delete the old keyboard? If so how?

This is the stock keyboard sale should use in any future neatrom versions if im honest as the learning one is a joke!
 
Glad youre finaly sorted mate. Use Titanium to freeze the other keyboard :thumbup:

Also, back up the keyboard you like so youll always have it ;)
 
Ok scratch that i have a problem

I can no longer make a call! When i press 'phone' it now says 'unfortunately contacts has stopped' :(

Any idea how to fix this or failing that remove new keyboard for old?

Best someone remove my thread in general section
 
The default first thing to try anytime something goes wrong is to reboot to recovery and wipe dalvik cache and cache. You can also fix permissions under the advanced tab
 
What have you done just before the contacts app crash problem mate?

And before wiping or anythin, does a 3rd party dialer app like Go Contacts work?
