hi people
im wanting to know how i can flash my kernel back to the original thing as ive got the siyah kernel at the minute and its not working right. help would be greatful. thanks in advance.

sorry but im new to this could u help me bit more plz. bit more detail x

yes but you need to help us a bit more by giving us some details. What phone do you have and did you do a nandroid before flashing your kernel? Also What ROM are you using ? IF you didn't make a nandroid you could backup everything and reflash the ROM you have.

I have samsung galaxy s3 on orange...i didnt nandroid i dont think i never saw to do that. How do i kno what ROM im using?

I think reflashin is the option but no idea how to do it. Im gonna unroot it to and then do it again cos phone not been same since i changed the kernal..it kept turnin off n on and my battery as got worse...mayb i could do it again using the nandroid thing 1st

I moved your thread to your device/carrier forum for others to help:)

No need to unroot....we just need to either find another kernel, or flash a new rom, or perhaps simply wipe cache and dalvik cache in recovery.:)

Have you changed any of the settings in the stweaks app which gets installed along with the kernel? Open up STweaks and scroll to extras (far right page) and press reset settings to default. With everything set to kernel defaults you shouldn't have any problems.

extweaks is pretty much identical to the stweaks app, just made by a different dev. The layout should be the same so just reset to defaults from within.

Hmmm, can't find any stock kernels (that aren't out of date) for some reason  You could just reflash the ROM without doing a wipe and it would get it back.

There are quite a few different custom ones though if you'd be interested in that?

which one should i use. im still new to this x

To be honest, any one of them should work, but some work better than others subject to regional ROM version, modem, etc. I would pick on that matches your ROM version, e.g. XXEMB5 or use the latter anyway (I got the stock kernel when first flashing the custom ROM I use and then flashed a custom one; that was the XXEMB5 which worked very well).

Just make sure that create a Nand backup of your current setup, then you should wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache in your custom recovery before flashing your kernel. You should never 'brick' your phone by flashing kernels anyway, if you have a bootloop or problem after flashing the kernel then just pull the battery and start your phone in recovery mode and try another or restore from Nandroid (Backup).

Hi thanks for ur help. I dont mean to sound thick but couod u copy and paste me the corrct one please the whole list cos ive looked on there and im a bit lost lol and also have no idea how to do the nand backup and the other cache thing.
