Root internet usage

i just wanna ask you guys how much internet would u say u use in a whole month? i no we got the unlimited data but im sure vm didnt plan on people using 100 gbs of data...unless they did. but would yal say between 10 and 20 gbs is too much?

I'm always on WiFi. Home, work, etc. Always on wifi...so its hard for me to gauge that

Wifi at home. 3g at work. I use over 2gb/mo downloading roms at work. U dont want know know my home cable usage ;)

I use 3G frequently to browse the web and download apps when I don't have wifi away from my house, and I've never hit over 1GB. You don't really need to worry unless you tether.

Haha I said it wrong it seems like I said I'm too HIGH lmao but what I should have said is maybe I'm using to much internet. I use my phone to tether not by paying virgin mobile but with USB tethering on cm10.1

That will be coming to a rapid end, Virgin has already stated that in the first quarter ALL phones will have throttling after 2.5 Gb until your plan resets. After throttling your throughout will be 256kbps, not very useful for tethering.
OB

Before I had wifi about 10 to 12 gb/month. Now hardly any mobile data since I'm usually on wifi.

if i had home internet id probably be using wifi. but i barely use it since we dont have it anymore. maybe ill by that lil virgin mobile wifi thing. have anybody here used one yet? would u say its faster or about the same speed as the evo v

Since when was VIRGIN MOBILE 3g even worth tethering? :what:

Max speed is 1mb a second and usually 400 kpbs. Pretty fast for dialup!

Now, the wimax is a different story. 5mbps is fair enough. It's just so limited.

yea i turn on wimax where im at it connects and then disconnects and idk whats the closest wimax tower to me. the 3g when i tether is pretty good. it plays videos on youtube with out stopping alot

Before switching off my Sprint plan to VM (1 month anniversary is Feb 7th) I checked my past year of usage, and there was only one month where I even came close to 1GB. When I saw that, I knew the 2.5GB throttle limit wouldn't apply to me.

That being said, I've been streaming a little more music than I used to back when my SiriusXM trial was still going.

I'm almost always on wifi too so in a normal month I might hit 1gb or so with normal usage. 3g speeds aren't fast enough to stream video so it's hard to rack up data that way. While I was at my parents house over Christmas break (they have horrid internet) I was almost entirely on 4g and 3g and hit well over 3gb. That was the most I've ever used and I was downloading tons of roms and such.

You do know when you dial ##25327# it shows your total number of calls, minutes and data, last i checked i used around 4.25gigs total in the 5 months of owning this phone. not sure how its possible after looking at the total data i have on my 32gig card, had 18gigs of,videos, roms, 100 or so songs, all downloaded from 3g and 4g so i doubt im being recorded, or correctly anyways.

Until now, 4G hasn't been able to get tracked because we go through Sprints servers, however Virgin has already announced that starting in the first quarter ALL phones will be throttled after 2.5 Gb.

Perhaps like the odometer on a car, after a point, the numbers reset :p

Maybe you've used 1004.25 gigs, and after 1000 gigs, it goes back to zero :D
