I listed it for 300 w pics just a few bites...200 lol I will play golf w it before I sell it for 200
Then, get ready to play golf with it. A brand new iPad 1 16GB is only $349. The price for a used one will just keep dropping.
I think most ppl that own a computer and a tablet will want to exchange data between the two, and not have to search the interent to figure out how to do it.
No searching of the internet. Plug in your tablet to the PC, and drag-and-drop. All users of PC's know how to drag and drop. You know? Basic file copying.
If you don't want to have to drag and drop, then use a cloud provider (Such as Google Docs or webdrive.com). Or, find another solution.
Last I checked, you can't really sync documents between an iPad and your PC without following the same steps.
Yes, email is primarily hosted by a third party. Music, vacation photos, and dvd rips are primarily not hosted by a third party.
And, most people I know use PhotoBucket for vacation photos, music is synced just by using Windows Media Player (Or the player of choice), and DVD rips are yesterday's news (Hello Netflix/Hulu).
If the user has to be aware of, search for, test, and possibly purchase these options, it's absolutely a penalty. You might as well ship an android phone without a phone app and allow the user to selected from the many options in the market. I just don't see the defense for android not providing sync capability across all of its devices.
You don't really need an app to sync. Drag and drop, my friend. Many phones even come with Sync software. Or, you can pick any of the thousands of other solutions to do sync.
Your apps, your email, calendar, and your contacts however sync seamlessly just by signing into the phone with your Google account.
I doubt only 2% of consumers want photos, music, and movies on their android devices.
How do you know? Most people I know take a pic, and immediatley (From the camera interface) upload it to Facebook and Photobucket. Most I know don't even care if it's on their phone or now.
Music and movies? Drag and drop, or use the built-into-the-OS-of-choice Media manager (Windows Media Player, Rhythm Box, etc).
It doesn't really get easier than that. It's definitley MUCH easier than buying a new computer for a second Apple ID.
Your solution is for Joe Shmo to use multiple mechanisms to get data into his new devices, mechanisms that might work for one android device and not the other, mechanisms he may or may not be aware of. This is clearly an android user experience deficiency.
You don't need to use multiple mechanisms. You can choose whichever one fits you better. Even to the point where you hate all of them, and write one yourself.
Drag-and-drop is built into every single OS and Android phone I've ever seen. Windows media player seamlessly sync playlists, podcasts, movies, and music into ANY media. Android phones included.
Can I use iTunes to sync my music, documents, movies, contacts, email, DVD rips, and every other item you bring up here to EVERY device I own, without a problem? Last I checked, no. And, last I checked if iTunes doesn't really work well for you, you have no options.
And to sync photos, music, and videos, most android users end up in these forums looking for a mechanism.
Really? I don't think I've seen a single thread asking for that. Most computer users I know actually know how to copy files.
