Accessories iPod connector -> Micro USB cable

How did it work?? Sound quality?? Thanks

Well I got it in a couple days ago and used it in a couple different scenarios. I first tried it with an FM transmitter I had for my ipod. I plugged it onto the end of that and connected my phone. Music worked great. I felt like I had to turn it up a little louder than I normally would be quality didn't degrade.

Then I used it in my wife's car. I plugged it into her dedicated ipod connector in her glove compartment. I was able to connect the EVO again and play my music. Playing mp3's worked great. Sound quality was good and the steering wheel controls worked. I have 4 different music players on my phone and when I used the steering wheel controls it automatically opened Double Twist. I guess I'll just make sure I use that when I am in the car.

The only downside right now is that Pandora sounds terrible. I was hoping it would work just as well but the sound quality is no good.

Otherwise I think its a good product. I have a couple other ipod docks so I'm sure I will use it with them or perhaps get another one.

Note: Make sure whatever ipod connector you are using is powered. In other words, the bluetooth receiver must be powered by the ipod connector, if not, it won't work.

I've been using the anycom for a couple months, I got Pandora to sound good by checking the better quality audio box in the settings menu.

That looks like the coolest thing EVAR!!
Despite having the 30 pin ipod dock in my car, I was so disappointed when it didn't show any track info or anything. With this, since I mount my evo on my dash right above the stereo unit, I'd just run whatever music player with album art. Then the only time I wouldn't have that is when I'm in nav. Ahh, trade off's. And I could run it in my other 2 home docks (one is an alarm clock). Frigging great!

So glad I ran across this thread.

This is what the OP was talking about!! Dock Input Cable for Bose SoundDock

Im looking at this too.. my jvc HD radio head unit i got the ipod adapter that connects to the ipod but I like to listen to my evo but cant because it does not have AUX in... only by the ipod connecter

I work at coit and campbell...and If I am ON coit reception is awesome (when the network isn't crappy the speeds are great too)

when on 75 I get good signal...but again...the network is hit or miss

Yea 4g service is a hit or miss in dallas..its not the same as clear service i cant get anything better than 4.5meg down and that was a lucky day its usally 3 down at the most.

I bought the Anycom FIPO Bluetooth adapter to stream music to my VW Jetta's stereo a couple months ago, and I haven't had any success with it. It cuts out about every 10 seconds, and I have my wi-fi turned off. This would solve so many problems for me, but I can't get it to work. What do yal think?

delete the pairing from your phone...reboot and re pair.... I haven't seen any issues like this in a while. Do you have any other bluetooth devices you can test the phone on?

Did not know Anycom was in business.. I have one of their bluetooth usb dongle and can not find a website to download drivers... : ( oh well

Thanks for this thread. Ideally someone would come up witha female ipod to micro usb connector, but I'm going to try this bluetooth connecto. I'm currently using the Motorola T505, but it uses an FM transmitter, so the sound quality sucks. Plus I'll be able to use this on my ipod dock at home. The link above is $15.95 plus $7 shipping. I found this for $19.99 with free shipping

This unit works like a champ! And you really can't beat the price. :) For information on how I interfaced it, look at post #49: http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2679071#post2679071

Any questions, feel free to ask!

Correct me if im missing something.

With the
Sprint Anycom Bluetooth A2DP Reciever with iPod Dock

your head unit, in my case Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT can play mp3's from the Evo?

Can you control the evo using the head unit as well? (i.e. song selection)

Will it show the mp3 tags on the head unit? (Song Title, Artist, Album, etc)

Can you still make/receive calls via Bluetooth in the head unit if playing an mp3?

My son got my iPod stolen at school and was going to buy a new iPod Touch. But if I can use this with all the functions simulating an Ipod, id be saving tons of money.

Also, do any of you know if there is a cable out yet from micro usb to iPod without going the bluetooth route?

Thanks in advance!

Should work fine, many have posted here that it does all/most of what you have asked. Tags are hit or miss with most head units when done over bluetooth

What about this?

Any thoughts? Thanks.

In theory this should work though I don't know that the adapter can handle cotrol functions ect. A few months ago there were posts that this exact adapter could in fact be made...looks like someone did it.

I have not seen any posts regarding this one. I say get it and try it and let us know how it works. I am going to order one next week, along with the anycom (really prefer the wireless option when possible)

Thanks Mr. Ed.

The only problem seems to be the iPod connection. Its a male 30pin. I'm going to need an iPod female/female data cable since the output from the head unit is also a 30pin male.

Anyways, thanks again. Let me know how it works out for you. I'm doing my stereo install next week so hopefully I'll have results by then.

Haha I didn't even think of that. I don't own an I anything but have some radios around the house that have iphone ipod docks.
