IPS LCD Vs SAMOLED

I just wanted to see if anyone has switched to the G2X from a phone with SAMOLED? I am pretty indecisive whether or not to switch from my Nexus S to the G2X. But i hear that the IPS display doesn't even compare to SAMOLED. So i don't really know if it's worth the switch, especially because of sound quality. My NS with Voodoo sound is far superior to any iPod or PMP. How's the sound quality? is it pretty good? or will i be disappointed?

I had a GS4G for two weeks and the screen is impressive. I was worried the g2x wouldnt be as good, but it is really close. You would have to get very picky to find the differences in most settings. The only place I really notice a difference, and its small, is in bright light situations. The g2x is a little bit harder to read in direct sun.

As for the sound there is no comparison. The dual speakers on the g2x rock for a phone.

from some reviews i've heard people say it had stereo speakers.
but in the wirefly review, the guy specifically mentioned that it's mono. same with phonedog i do believe.

who's right? lol

They're stereo. I've covered each speaker while playing music, you can hear the change.
I believe one of the speakers acts as a microphone, at least thats what the wirefly video seemed to imply. this would mean audio would be mono when using speakerphone, but stereo anywhere else.
Edit: I think the speaker is actually mono.

This impressed me at least...

That's the MobileTechReview of the G2x.

That's interesting, the screen looks great. And i wasn't talking about speaker quality i'm talking about sound quality with headphones. The amp in the Nexus S and any SGS phone is so amazing that i don't know if i want to switch because of it.

Well I cannot speak of the difference from the Nexus S but I can give you my experience. In compared to the GS4G and my old Blackberry 9700 the sound is as good if not better then both through the headphones. It is good enough in fact that I have listed my iRiver Spinn on ebay, and that has incredible sound and eq options.

Well, then i think i'm going to get it. There are a lot of people in my area selling them brand new for between $420 and $450 in my area.

I think that's an android 2.3 thing more than a hardware thing. Android 2.3 has some built in eq features that 2.2 doesn't.

It's definitely a hardware thing with sgs phones. It's the built in amp look up Voodoo control and you will see what I am talking about.
