Is anyone here using SiyahKernel

So would you recommend someone like me giving it a go slug, considering I've no idea on any of this CPU undervolting/overclocking mumbo jumbo?

EDIT: Sod it. Just backing up now before giving it a go!!!! :)

EDIT2: All up and running now. Its got CWM 4.0.1.4 bundled in on it. The back key doesnt work on this. It seems the Power key is now the "back" key.

Of course. By default it runs at the normal "safe" freqs anyway. Install "Stability Test" from the Market if you fancy tweaking the freqs/volts; make a single small step-change and run the classic test for a while to ensure stablity. Rinse and repeat until you've found what works for your particular chip, then give it a few hours of the scaling test to make sure. Oh, and on no account tick "use at boot" in Set CPU (or similar) until you know it's reliable!

Works fine, too. I never got used to the "back" key anyway so I won't miss it. :)

Initial findings are promising i.e. it works fine with my voltage settings from Ninphetamine 2.x. When I've got an hour or two I'll see if the voltage requirements are any lower than that one. I can't compare power consumption yet as I've trashed the poor thing today flashing to and fro from stock firmwares and trying different modems.

Let us know how it goes guys. One guy on xda reckons it's the best by far, 2 others replied they got massive battery drain with it and stopped using. Suppose it's different for different people on different roms and different set ups etc

A bit early to judge I know, but its holding up well for me so far Syd.
No wakeloks. Battery at 79% after 11h 15m on, with half an hour of this actually with the screen on and in use (browsing over wifi mainly).

I've also since updated my modem to KI3 by the way.

UPDATE:
now on 74% 13h 9m on battery with 45m on screen.

Tried it, but it doesn't work with villain 3.0. Things seem to work until the media scanner completes and then the phone freezes.

Be it upon your head hawker!

Have installed SicOpat's XXK3 ROM and thought, "What the hell...let's give it a try".

Initial impressions are good.

Had it on for about 6 hours and am running it at Max: 1600MHz, Min: 200MHz, on demand... which is the same settings that I used quite happily for the last 6+ weeks with Ninphetamine kernel.

Ran a couple of benchmarks to compare...

SmarBench 2011 = 5235/2428

AnTuTu = 7020

These are roughly what I was getting with XXKI4 ROM and Ninphetmine 2.1.3.

Have just recalibrated my battery and will see if there's any improvement, or problems, over the next few days. :D

Does 1.7.5 seem any better than .4 hawker? I noticed it was up earlier and was tempted to flash but I was thinking that I probably won't get an accurate battery reading as it takes a few cycles after flashing. So I decided to hold off for a day or two, but if its an improvement I might be persuaded.

Early days yet butty. I only put it on a few hours back.
I'll test battery drain tonight. On my 1.74 setup I usually get 3% drain overnight with wifi+data enabled with wifi set to "sleep never when charging"

I'll compare it tonight. I dont expect too much difference but we shall see....
