Root is anyone trying a work around for the bootloader

just trying to see where the phone is at as far as trying to get this phone some roms/kernels. i no a lot has to be done before thats possible. are there any devs on this phone if so who are they and how do we contact them. if there are no devs how can we get one..
 
I believe a few guys are working on a ported recovery but we are all hoping for a unlock tool from LG. I may just get the s3 and hold onto this phone just in case
 
there really isn't a way around it. if it was easy enough to find another way , it would have been known by now. All we can really do at this time, is wait until LG gives us what we need for the bootloader, be patient, and just bother LG by sending numerous emails or live chats, and signing the petition so that they will have to unlock it for us! :)
 
If someone gets me a ported recovery of cwm, I may be able to implement it into firmware, but as I said before it has a high-risk of causing a permanent brick.
 
the bootstrap isnt playing nice, it replaces netd with a custom version and it causes a literal shitstorm when it runs, 2nd-init needs to have some fairly large changes to it in order to run effectively. meaning at this time and point bootstrap cwm has slowed to a drunken man crawling speed.

at least on our end of it all. im sure there is someone out there who is able to figure it out. but for the weeks ive been pluggin at it im hangin my hat up.

best of luck to yall, it only took 3-4 months of ragging on motorola with a few hundred thousand people to get them to offer a bootloader unlocking solution a year after they promised. so there is hope for yall! :)
 
Hey niz, you could try throwing your phone at the nearest wall, window, car, beloved pet or family member while screaming obscenities at both your phone and wall, window, car, beloved pet or family member. If that doesn't work you can sign the petition and or nag lg's ear off until they listen.

thank you bag im sorry (ninjaasinbag)i wanted help and your ideas all worked.thank god you know so much and are willing to share. this must be what your family did with you so its tried and true.keep on this track, your doing great. i hear you and your mom, sister, dad, 8 brothers, 7 cousins,
6 cats, 8 dogs, and 5 rats almost have the money to get out of that 1 bedroom apt in the projects. bravo and thanks for keeping hope alive ! :D ps are you still at war with the tmnt?

Congrats, you fell for trolling. Seriously though, there are many a developer working on a bootloader, if one is discovered it will be released. Until then, unbunch your panties. Good one with the tmnt joke. >.> i actually call my lil brother master splinter.
 
Forgive my ignorance, I thought since the phone is rooted that it was unlocked, and we where waiting for recovery. Can someone explain this to me?

incorrect, no one was ever working on a bootloader. that would be a horrendous waste of time.

i don't know how but this phone needs to get some dev love.contacting lg doesn't seem to be helping.how can we get a dev to work some magic and who do you guys think would be the best devs for the job? cant wait to see what this phone is really capable of.
 
quick question from a newbie sorta lol......i came from the lg connect 4g to this phone cuz it had ics but just curious as to why the lg connects bootloader was able to be unlocked but the lg motion isnt....wouldnt it be the same process???
 
Connect bootloader isn't locked...I'm pretty sure it's not. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit: it is locked but it won't brick itself like the motion will....

The bootloader is different on each phone....bootloader is kind of like a BIOS of a computer.
With the motion, the bootloader is extremely strict and will brick itself depending what you do to the system folder or other folders that can only be modified with root.

Yeah, I'm right on the beach. People emboldened the monkey and now he ain't skeered of no one and if they don't feed him, chomp! So I read an article by VSR about bootloader security and bypassing. No such luck for the Motion huh?
