i cant get into fastboot on any of my samsung devices :O
on a more real note however.
flash a bad kernel on teh lg connect youll find fastboot real fast. its a security measure put in place by lg in case of a bad update etc
it should also be noted you can get into fastboot on teh galaxy nexus, photon q, droid razr m, razr i, and im sure plenty of other devices... but until you unlock the bootloader you cant flash anything.

i could be wrong, and i probably am, but i do not think that samsung uses Fastboot on any of their devices, it wasn't until i switched from samsung devices to LG that i ever heard of fastboot
edit: the exception to this is the Galaxy Nexus, but that could be because it is a nexus phone....

I know i was being a bit of a smart*** by saying if you cant get into fastboot the bootloader is locked ;P. oh and teh nexus s i can confirm. i belive older versions like the behold may have had fastboot access.

There are other phones with locked boatloader u could gain access to it and turn it off.

lol...well then i was correct....in that i was wrong with my original statement
there are a lot of dif opinions about this phone and what can and cant be done with it. every one trying 2 figure it out is great. not to put down anyone's efforts but is there someone that we could get to look at it that could figure out what exactly needs to be done. waiting for lg doesnt seem to be helping. i don't know nearly as much as most people on this site about phones but i do know not trying isn't going to help and lg seems to not care. so my question is whats next? if you build it they will come.

So when i used the adb reboot-bootloader command my phone rebooted as normal but now I have a red box constantly appearing on the outside of the screen. Also fastboot still does not recognize the device. I was going to try the the old fastboot oem unlock trick.
so i don't understand are you trying to push files with adb or is there someway you know of unlocking the bootloader with it have you done this before? just asking.

Was reading a thread about rebooting into fast boot and using a command to unlock the boot loader via fastboot. Figured it was worth a go. Anyway to get this phone into fastboot?
Ok let me try this. are you a dev? do you know a dev ? if you are a dev have you or will you try to work on this phone? if you know a dev will you talk with him or her about this phone and see if we can have some progress made. it is sad but the motion is dying on this site. we need help at least i do. my favorite part of my admire was screwing around with it and changing things around. we need roms they make things so much more fun kernels would be great also.

dude, you are awfully negative...i'm just going to go out and say it...it's not that helpful to solicit people and yell at people...if you are that up in arms about the locked bootloader how about you teach yourself how to develop Android?...the only reason i have not done that is because i have work, school, and a child...so i'm kind of busy...
personally i would love to see more people working on this phone...i have personally chatted with the dude who did the bootstrap on the Optimus 4X and he said he was not able to help us out...but for now...please stop being so negative....right now...our only option is to keep bugging LG about it, eventually they will get tired of us and release the tool....i'm sure we have like 2 or 3 people who are trying to find a work around....but i am lacking in confidence with those 2 or 3 because Shabby gave up...but whatever...i know that eventually we'll have a work around and all we can do is wait patiently for someone to find a tool
how you would see what i said as negative is beyond me.i know you really want the emails to lg to work out because your one of the people who first suggested to email them. you shouldn't take what i am saying so personally. any way that we move forward with this phone is fine but your email idea doesn't seem to be working. who are these two devs your talking about maybe we all could donate a little money there way to change their minds.

They tend to do it for love, interest and support. Donations can help defray costs of crashed disks and damaged phone components, but that's often about it.
I think that it's best to not push that ok.

Contributions to devs are welcome and encouraged.
I'm sure that they understand the need here. But neither that nor contributions can turn them if they are busy with other projects.
Besides, we rarely hear what is being worked on at this level, usually just hear when it's done.

what letter is that you are talking about? i googled (the future is so nice) and didn't come up with anything.
hey i just went on xda and are phone isnt even on there radar over there at all. is anyone a member there on xda that could start the conversation about the motion and it being locked. if not i will join xda i just find that site is more for devs. maybe i am wrong about that tho plus i don't like navigating that site i find it frustrating .

it's obvious that you're not a member of XDA, i am and i have asked and requested a forum for this phone...XDA is notorious for only dealing with the major carriers, I have asked a few people who would be able to help with this phone to see if they are able to and no one is able to help...so go ahead and try yourself but good luck
and as i have said multiple times...this is just a matter of waiting patiently and to keep bugging LG...WE HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE...WE CAN ONLY WAIT...
i do not know how to make this more clear....
but i somehow think that you're going to go on ahead and keep posting about how people need to step up and do this or do that...if you do not want to wait then go ahead and learn how to mod Android...and figure out how to get past the bootloader...but honestly, if Shabby gave up i have little hope in other people...so whatever
