is droid incredible faster?

This is all funny. Some live in denial, yes the incredible is faster. but some thought we were referring to the web speed, for which that does have something to do with Verizon being the faster network. But I was also referring to just plain snappiness with opening apps and just using the phone. I don't have a ton of apps on my EVO , and its down right sluggish, and you tube has gotten significantly slow in the last week? Any way, as I, and some others have said, hopefully FROYO fixes any of this.

I scored a 536 on my EVO with Quadrant. The only time my EVO is slow is when I try to "manage apps" under the settings menu. That lags quite a bit... lucky I can use appbrain, which is instant.

Bummer, my evo scored a 491. It is running the unrevoked though, may have something to do with it.

I can only go by experiance. I live in baltimore and have an EVO. My neighboor has the incredible and I definately have a faster phone than he does. When tried loading youtube and I can play videos with no buffering at all, his buffers a few seconds and then plays. And in my basement with no windows, I get must faster internet connections and loading speeds than he does. Prolly has to do with the signal cause he can barely get a signal in my basement and I have 4 bars consistent on 3G. Not that it matters which is faster, because they are both solid phones. Its all irrevelent in the end anyway.

i got a 526 and am showing just above the Incredible on my phone. i'll run it again and see if i get the same results. this time i'll take a pic.

Did you only run Linpack once? Is this the highest you got with it?

I can get 7.0 7.1 with the Incredible. Try running Linpack more to see if you can hit 7's

if mine has a lag i just dont notice it. I have never even seen an Incredible so I have no clue but I dont have any hesitations or anything going from screen to screen and whatnot? I just dont understand how anything can be faster as this moves as I touch it, the only way mine could be faster is if it could anticipate my moves BEFORE i touch my screen. I guess if that is what the incredible is doing its a REAL SMART phone?

I don't trust composite benchmark scores. Quadrant evidently requires the pro version to break out the numbers by subsystem.

Linpack is strictly a number cruncher, as I understand it - so on a device that you're more concerned about i/o with than anything....

Just a few cents from a newbie.

553 for Quadrant and 6.94 for Linpack on the Evo using Bugless Beast 0.3 ROM. Cut out bugless beast and the Quadrant score drops about 20-30 points, Linpack stays in the 6.9+ range regardless of ROM.

I think the .1 difference in Linpack is simply due to the fact that the EVO has to handle so more extra hardware then the Incredible does, so that's going to be taking up a small bit of CPU even going idle. But running Bugless Beast's ROM has killed any kind of sluggishness in the UI, it results in a much snappier system.

And for what it's worth when I've tested Quadrant thru the various ROMS available so far, I've never scored below the Incredible or Nexus One pre 2.2 in the graph. If the FPS cap is fixed the scores will jump up a bit since you can see it limiting a few of the graphic tests.
