Several of the posts you up and deleted were about Facebook AND Iran.
So we can't say anything negative???

You mods delete too many posts right out of the blue here. Too much power.

I'm done with this forum. I might come back in a few months and I might not.
 
Please dont leave the forum. This action is the downside of all forums. The best answer is exactly what you said without leaving.
I had mentioned the irony of twisted control and power by comparing the subject facebook and a related public.
Then came this post....laughable.
Mark Z would be proud. ;(

Own goal FB - people on my list are deleting you from their devices at this very moment.
This was posted on the Uk Facebook website six hours ago. Its great to see people all over the world saying enough is enough. Shocked me at first. I wonder how long it will remain....?

IDK is it? Is it ok to discuss any differences if there be any? The point is though the new(er) permissions they are asking for when you agree to thier terms are evil..right?
 
Maybe I need to read these terms and conditions again . I hope they not asking me for blood or urine samples. Or ask me to jump off the Brooklyn bridge . remember this is from the killings from male and female .

With all these mergers and most companies wanting to be all things to everyone, I wouldn't be surprised if you had to sign up a new child at birth to one application/system or another. Google, Facebook, anyone else trying to get in the act.

It's still creepy. I checked permissions on the one account I do have, and permission to do something with mobile was there. I left it alone, as I deleted the crap from the phone years ago.

Don't know what's going on - backlash, maybe - but Yahoo won't allow logging into Flickr with Google or FB anymore.

Is Facebook evil? No...no more than an AR-15 is evil. It's a tool. Tools don't react well to stupidity, misuse or bad judgement.
 
I do all my banking on Linux, using Pale Moon or SW Iron. One bank just did suggest closing the browser before and after using the banking site. So others are catching on.

I've been doing this since dial-up days.
 
^Dude it's a computer. Computers are engineered to perform the same tasks over and over i.e. they are stupid. They only do what you tell them to do. They lack personalities. We haven't made it to skynet yet.

Right, I know that last half of your reply. However, apps like FB run in the background and also collect data, your info and they keep it whether you delete it or not. People are a little lax with their privacy and info shared these days. Don't be so quick to give it up.
 
One solution - disable it until you need it again. Only takes a minute.

I'm rooted. First thing that went was FB.

On PC, only look at one page, revoke permissions (I use NoScript on Pale Moon), and close the browser.
