Is Facebook Evil?

Don't know about mobile, but I don't see ads on page. I close browser before, go directly to kid's page, read and comment there, revoke permissions and close browser.
Pale Moon set to dump everything on exit. One advantage to PC is NoScript. FB keeps telling me to use mobile site for full enjoyment of site. I just enable JS, then turn it off. Think that JS might be the biggest problem on mobile. Too hard to turn off.
Some browsers on the PC have extensions that allow you to turn off JS on the fly.
Android browsers need that extension instead of just JS on or off.

Most of the discussion with kid is about cats or ferrets. Not too much marketing for Weezes.

I am seriously waiting to find out whether the chance of selling something outweighs selected usage which means adding all your info so they can market. Chance of marketing would be more like the pesty telemarketers. Blanket everything to collect one nibble.

Yahoo has already admitted it will not abide by "Do Not Track"

In search of a social site that doesn't lie - Computerworld

What was done. I couldn't fathom how they could manipulate. I only have 4 people listed, half-fast profile, wrong location, and everything locked down. I sign in, click on kid's picture, and check her posted pics. Comment, (never click like) sign out, revoke temporary permissions (NoScript) and close Pale Moon, which dumps everything on close. I've never even looked to see if I have a Timeline or News. I'm not interested.

I just got the update to install messenger so I could check my messages when I read the terms and conditions and saw what the app can actually do on its own I quickly uninstalled it. guess ill be going thru my browser to check messages.

To make better friends with their Facebook likers (and no doubt to boost the number of likes), the Dutch Eindhoven airport prepared a special program for travelers who use Facebook. If you liked Eindhoven Airport and provide your contact and flightnumber, you may be selected for the Facebook VIP program.

Selected travelers receive no discounts on their journey, but receive extra pampering. They may park completely free on a dedicated Facebook close to the entrance, they can eat free at the airport restaurant and they may use the 'Fast Track', so they do not have to through security rows.
