Ok in the old days of computers we had a very wonderful thing. It was such an awesome thing that we would not dream of running a computer with out it. This jewel was called a Ram Disk. Back in those days DOS was the BOSS and CLI Ruled the World. Now GUI's are in the lead however CLI is so powerful that it wont go away. Ok well I'm tired of telling you all how long I've been around so lets move on shall we :D

I Know that in the boot.img file there is a ramdisk image and it loads all the things needed for the system to run. I want to know if there is 1 a way we can make this bigger to include cache / dalvic and 2 if there is a way to do it through the ROM using a Terminal? OR any kind of RAM creating software that we can use. If I could use a RAM Disk to store cache / dalvic then these could be cleaned with every reboot and it would save some space in my System RAM.

Of course I'm sure i'm not the only who has ever thought of this so its probably not possible but how sweet if it is. Anyways Does anyone know anything that could lead me in the right direction?

So you are calling me old...LOL because I remember this with my old 8088 and geoworks  But as far as freeing up the cashe space i thought there was a way to move it to the sd or the sd ext. I know that isnt exactly what you are asking but just had to respond to the ramdisk thing.

Yeah I know I can move it with DT Not sure of other methods.

Try a search on the googles, you never know what you may come up with. I have no experience what so ever in this arena, although I completely remember working with those old a$$ glorified calculators! :D

If it were possible to contact one of the developers, perhaps they could answer the question for you?

yeah i was thinking of that :)

Technically its not that big of a deal I was just curious if it was possible. I will move cache over to sd card just thought it would be really kewl if I could put it in RAM.
