Is it okay to upgrade my firmware?

My phone keeps telling me about an update that's available, and I always click Reject because I've heard it will disable the mobile hotspot unless I subscribe to a service. Is this true? I've heard it was called the Reboot update, but I bought my phone after this update had already come out. The build number in the About Phone screen is "1.12.605.6 CL338893 release-keys". Should I upgrade my firmware or not?

If you upgrade you're going to lose the free hotspot. At some point, if you keep rejecting the update, it will just automatically update on you. It happened last night to a fellow member trying to upgrade his radio. Now he's unrooted and will have to root again.

I don't understand this logic of people rejecting the update. Do you think you'll be able to keep doing that for the life of your phone?? Anyways, I would suggest 2 things.

1. Accept the update and pay the reasonable fee for the hotspot

2. Root your phone and use one of the 3rd party WiFi tether apps that work just as well
