Is it possible to have more "thanks" than posts?

hmm.. i think so.. cause if you have a nice post and a lot of the members clicked "thanks" button then that's it :)

Mathematically possible? :rolleyes::boring:

Offer some advice or assistance or anything positive about anything and see how many people thank you for your input. You could have 100 thank yous for one post if enough people appreciate it.

Well you will always have more thanked times that thanked posts if you get at least 2 thanks with 1 post...if you play forum games the posts don't add to your post count but the thanks do add to your thanks count so you can have more thanked posts than posts...

Well, if that is indeed the case then I'd have more "thanks" than posts. But I have 33 total thanks vs 167 posts. Perhaps a different barometer is the #of thanks (T) divided by the #of posts (P). Therefore, T/P= 20% (OK, that's apples & oranges, I realize, because that is really how many times I thanked others. uffda, I got a headache;)).

I guess I will just have to accept that I am very under appreciated.
I am so nice in real life though. Nobody understands me in here...
I promise when I learn more I will help more..
Then they will be thanking me.

I'm just blabbering. I get plenty thanks for what I do in here.

But I would rather give thanks than recieved thanks any day.

Oh. Is it better to be liked or thanked in here?

I actually don't how many of either I have been.
But I haven't been banned. Does that count for anything?
(But warned 5 times. I told you they don't understand me lol!)

Still not sure what the record is for a single posts' Thanks, but I've seen several that have gotten 100+ for them.
284...
Wow!

Just to clarify though, this thread was meant to be an exercise in "math" not a lesson in social skills. Much like "sleedeane," I'd rather give thanks than get them, albeit posting is a two-way street.

Kudos to all for explaining how thanking works :) And oh: Is it possible to give thanks to ALL thread's participants?!

Yeah you go thru and press thank on each post ;) if you posted then you would be unable to thank everyone since you can't thank yourself...there isn't a mass thank button however.

User GalaxyNexus thanked almost every post at one point in the Pre-release thread. I think I got a couple hundred thanks from that alone. HanSolo woke up the next morning with 3K new thanks. Let's say he was a little surprised.

Me again. If I post enough, surely someone will thank me for something? :what:

I went over there, and see I have been thanked 67 times (in 32,000 posts)(unuhh)

I will dig up all those posts to find out who all thanked me 67 times (in 50 posts)(uhhuh) so I can thank them. :sly:

Maybe they will thank me? :screwy:

Edit: But...I also have 110 thanks, and 495 posts??
(Face for confused)(oxy+xanax?)
Maybe I'll slam a few brews and flash something again...:beer:

Last time. I just want to try one more thing...

I'm thinking about not posting stupid stuff or asking stupid questions anymore.

Yes, but then worlds collide...

Yes. I understand.
One: there are some really kind folks here.
Two: I have never seen so many smart people in the same place at the same time in my life,
(and I can fit all of you in my pocket and take you with me everywhere I go. So I can pretty much ditch all my loser friends out here. I don't think I'll be needing them any more!).

What an awesome place to just hang out and get a quality education about life at the same time.
(and maybe even learn a little bit about smartphones, too!).
