Is JIT stable?

I was just curious is JIT (just in time) a stable way to speed up your phone. Becasue i was thinking about installing it on my phone to increase the speed by a lot. But just wanted to make sure my phone wouldnt crash every 30 minutes if i did install it.

It varies on a case by case basis. Some say it's ok and no problems are experienced, while others see the opposite. What ROM are you using? 2.2 and 2.3 ROMs have the option to enable JIT in the settings. It does require a reboot to make it active. Don't expect to see drastic speed increases in realtime. You probably won't see a difference unless you run a linepack score.

I tried running the AOSP 2.3 ROM with JIT on and could not notice any difference. I decided to turn it off and have never thought about turning it on again. I just don't see the point.

Alright so you guys are saying theirs really no point in even bothering with it? Also is their anyway i can increase my real time speed at all?

Are you rooted? If you are, either flash a custom ROM or flash a custom OC kernel. If you're not rooted, then root and flash a new ROM.

What if i just installed a custom kernel that overclocks my phone to 729 and is originally 528 and yes i am rooted.

+1 here, not worth the work

Flashing a kernel for Fresh is probably the best thing to do but in my experiences with JIT, I've never had an issue. So........enabling it, is more of a preference;) Work?:confused:There's no work involved if on an AOSP rom.

Whenever this argument comes around with JIT, "should I enable JIT or shouldn't I". I always think of Jack Nicholson in 'A Few Good Men'. "JIT? You can't handle the JIT":p

I have JIT enabled in all of my Android 2.2 and up ROMs. I have never experienced any issues with enabling JIT.

I actually did a test of Linpack benchmark before and after enabling JIT and it did help the score some. It is probably not something you would notice in real life usage, but it does help speed things up behind the scenes a bit.

alright well thank you guys for all your opinions i really appreciate it. I don't think I'm gonna install jit cause almost everyone said it was to much work haha. Also i already have a kernel overclocking my phone to 691.
