I've downloaded a custom rom called InDroid 3.0 Honeycomb it comes with:
* Rooted
* Lagfixed
* Fugutweak added(For that extra speed)
* APN List added (now for APN settings Restore to default will work)
* NEW Looks and feel
* NEW Kernel
* Custom Boot Animation
* HoneyComb Remix Theme
* GPS Perfectly working
* Honeycomb Live wallpaper
* Working ScreenCaptureService
* Data partition converted to ext2
* Kernel supporting ext2,ext3,ext4
* Transparent dialer
* All custom icons
If you want to do this first flash to XXJPF, Then you flash the rom with the same method. Frankly samsung are never going to release 2.2 for the UK, so you might aswell just use this.
And if you're having trouble use this video YouTube - [ Custom ROM] Samsung Galaxy 3 InDroid 3.0 HoneyComb it gives you the files and everything.

At last Samsung has released Froyo...
I was able to ugrade it after a long wait however I found 3 major issues in this
1) Swype not working
2) Live wallpapers are disabled
3rd and most imp Battery isnt last as it used to earlier.
Is anyone else facing these problems ???
There is No live Wallpaper Support in The Samsung Galaxy 3, However there is a Tweak that you can perform to Support Live Wallpaper, But you need to be on the advanced level first of all, below is the website which shows the supported and non supported phones for live wallpaper.

I have just received the following answer from Samsung customer services. It looks as if we are defiantly not receiving the official update in the UK!!!
Thank you for contacting Samsung and I have pleasure in providing the
following assistance.
Regarding your case, kindly note that we sincerely apologize for not
replying in the previous correspondence due to a system glitch.
In regards to your query, kindly note that in the meantime the Froyo
upgrade has been released for the Galaxy S phones only. More information
on whether it would be developed for the other Android Phones, are still
unknown.
We sincerely apologize for your inconvenience. However, please always
check on our website, in order to know the latest updates on the matter.
If you require any further assistance, please contact Samsung again and

Still no update in Belgium.
The update is available in India, Netherlands, France, Italy and spain as far as I know.
People, if you're from the UK just flash it. Once you actually flash it you'll see how extremely simple it is. Just a couple clicks and you're done.
How will it get broken?And if we end up with a broken phone, what happens then are you going to replace the phone for us lol...theres that small thing called a warranty...its invalidated if you do such a thing as that.

Stupid Samsung. They said April all the time. Now we're end April and still no shit. I will never buy any Samsung Android phones if the support continues like this.
hiYour only option is HTC so
Or LG

How will it get broken?
You only live once, don't be miserable![]()
It can be broken in so many ways by a user like me! Talk of rar. files and tar. files fill me with dread.
Life is too short though, so will give it a go at weekend - if anyone knows for sure whether 5800 froyo fix also works on 5801s.
.
But be warned you will have to do a factory reset if its anything like the way mine went it threw up some logs provider error message which forced me to to the factory reset
...and make sure you back up your contacts or save them to your sim card..i forgot
but thankfully orange had backed up my contacts this morning so i can just restore them...so far everything is semi okay runs fast after a couple of switch off and ons...its alot faster and smoother running as well..i'll hopefully keep ya'll posted as to how i find it
just a damn pain getting it to update through keis and then having to factory reset
