Is official FroYo comming to Galaxy Apollo?

whats the deal after a factory reset with your apps, do you need to install them all again, if you can remember them all?
 
a Factory Reset wipes the /Data partition, so any changeable data there (accounts, contacts, texts, apps) will be deleted

I would strongly advise you to root and backup with MyBackup Root or Titanium Backup from the Market
 
samsung benelux just told me upgrade coming soon.

Was just about to make a thread asking when Froyo is coming to the Apollo... seem's there plenty of you waiting too!! I thought I'd somehow got left behind.
 
Did you update through kies in UK? Is you phone unlocked i5800?? I can't still see any updates in kies?

Can anyone else confirm froyo for i5800 unlocked in UK?
 
very strange...that means some people can update while others can't. My kies isn't still showing any froyo update. I bought i5800 unlocked from carphonewarehouse. Is anyone else also having problem to update i5800 in UK??
 
Hi,

Any chance someone who has had the official upgrade via kies in the UK could confirm a couple of things for me please?

1) Does your handset have a XEU product code
2) Could you please post the PDA/Phone & CSC versions of the upgrade (in the dialler screen type *#1234#)

I checked kies out on my wife's apollo yesterday (sold mine now have a galaxy s) , no update so far , my wife's is an unlocked i5800 bought from the carphone warehouse...
 
you need the newst version of KIES for it to find a firmware upgrade. if you dont have it, go on your kies search for new updates and install the new version. then connect your phone and you should be able to upgrade your phone!!
 
My Apollo doesn't seem to be updating. I have downloaded the new Kies (updated on the 13th of may) and my phone does connect to kies but in Kies it says that my firmware is the latest for this phone. I've got the 2.1 adroid, Does anybody know what I can do? I'm in the UK by the way
 
still no updates for me...did anyone get to the bottom of this mystery...why only few people getting froyo ???? we need to get to the bottom of this....strangely samsung product registration site also has an updated froyo manual for UK...i also have latest kies version but still no updates...could it be something to do with our settings ?
 
or maybe there is some problem with the updated kies... I hope they will solve whatever prb there is soon... and i don't think it something to do with any settings or applications we might have downloaded coz i did a factory reset and tried again and still no update...
 
Can anyone else confirm froyo on unlocked i5800 apollo? I am very surprised only two people have been able to update through Kies and others can't. It could be the case they might have taken it off after a few hours???

I have tried all possible scenarios including reinstalling kies, installing fresh kies in my office today and still no updates.

Can you guys who updated let us know the firmware version which is showing on your mobile>
 
If you really want to flash it, google for "easydroid.net forum" one of the mods on there is a senior engineer for a repair contractor in the uk. He'll help you out.

Viki: I asked that question and got no response so far. I seriously believe the handsets they have are Orange-branded I5801 units or they have got the firmware from another source.
 
I live in Canada and tired to update about two weeks ago and Kies told me I had the latest firmware. I have pretty much come to term the update will not come but I don't want to flash because I will lose my progress in Imobster.
 
Anyone had any word on this yet? I have i5800 Carphone Warehouse with Orange sim and no Kies update... why have a page on the Samsung website apparently showing one, if there isn't one there?
