is SII upgradable

as v know android version 3 already out but is used in samsung tabs and few other galaxy phones have android 2.2 which is upgradable til 2.3 but wht about samsung galaxy SII is it upgradable 2 any furthur versions?
 
i just read post here where upgrading till 3 is written didnt u check it earlier version 3 was in tablets but it is advanced 2 phones as well is it true or the post is fake?

market version u mean 2 say where v get apps and games oh sorry iam new 2 this can u tell me when v say upgrading phone wht does it mean upgrading android version or firmvware or root or roms and wht are differances btween these.

No worries, so were we all once upon a time. :)

As well as the Android OS itself having specific versions such as 2.2.x (Froyo) and 2.3.x (Gingerbread), the core Google apps also have their own versioning.

This new version of the Market app has been pulled from an already-updated handset and made available for everyone. In time it will be rolled out automatically to all handsets, but this allows users avoid the wait.
 
so till date which is the latest android version on s2?

It's already been rolled out, I received the new version of the market around two weeks ago, it auto updated after using a market fix which must have cleared the cache or something.

I think you will find that that is the old "new" Market (3.0.27) you received OTA.

This is version 3.1.3 which was only released 24th Aug.

If you go to Settings > Applications >Manage applications > All > Market... you can see which version you have.
 
what is this standered firmware and roms are they differant in particular s2 phone and how wud i know which is mine?and wht r differances inbtween them and which 1 i shud used or is there any process 2 change firmware or rom if mine is not gud?

if my market is older version how can i update it is it automatic?coz till now i didnt see any auto-update option and what does ORA mean?

I was refering the to the new look market, not a specific version but yes it's 3.0.27.

Well no, if I never ran the market fix I would probably still be on the old market, plus it required root.

I'm not sure exactly why it updated but it was either after running the market fix from Chainfire 3D or after using market enabler, both require root.

If your rooted give them a try.
 
u need to be rooted to install 3.1.3 ver market ? actually nope. u don`t have to be rooted... just install it manually
 
but what is market fix,Chainfire 3D and market enabler and what does root mean to use them and how to root a phone and what is the use of rooting?
