Is the Galaxy Tabs filesystem similar to the Archos?

I've been asking this question around in the different forums, but nobody seems to have a definite answer. Some says they can't, others say they can do it with an app.

This oddity in the filesystem isn't documented and i came across it by accident so i'm not sure if it's present or not on the Galaxy Tab as well. It would be really cool if this was a standard feature on Android.


Anyway, on the Archos, the network is integrated into the local filesystem. So the apps don't care where the file is coming from. All they see is a really long foldername.

The microSD is a subfolder within the internal storage. So to access your other devices, you go.

\storage\ = Internal Flash Drive
\storage\sdcard\ = Micro SD slot
\storage\usb_host\ = USB devices
\storage\network\smb\ = Shared folders
\storage\network\upnp\ = uPnP folders

In this example, i wanted to open a manga located on another PC, so i just went:

\storage\network\smb\workgroup\adventure230\shared\fairytail.cbz

Or if i needed to access my IIS files with a text editor

\storage\network\smb\workgroup\adventure230\wwwroot\index.html

Does the Galaxy Tab's file system work the same way?
