It does the boot loop even when no charger is connected? You are doing a manual recovery button combo with no charger plugged in, right.

Here are the links to the ZV4 baseband KDZ and KP500 I made. Updated instructions are included.
Try the KP500 first. It might take several try's to get it to initate, but it works. Make sure you open up and let fully boot up the LG utility before closing it.

Here is the link to the original KP500 unbrick guide, with a link to the much needed LG mobile support tool.

I have been trying again and again and again. It repeatedly fails with a problem with communication between cell phone and PC.

deffinetly seems like a connection problem. Try one time letting the LG mobile support tool upgrade the phone ( it won't be able to, but it might help the connection). Then close app and retry. Might take several tries.
Post pic of usb cable end that plugs into phone.
How fast is your internet connection.
Try the KP500 if you haven't already. That's the one that worked on my brick.

I don't have a picture of my exact tip right now, it's on my HTC Dream, but I'll get that posted tomorrow.

I tried the KP500 zip which had a ZV4 update in it, and that above post was the output of following the KP500 instructions. No dice on letting it try to update via the sync software, as that refuses to go past "install drivers", which doesn't list the VM670 at all.

The LG Mobile Support tool was just needed to help establish connection. Once it is used (it should have failed to update) then it was supposed to be closed.
Then the KP500 is used, but will error out several times before working. Just keep pulling battery and starting over with the KP500 until it works.
If after tenth try and it doesn't work, use the ZV5 KDZ. Using the same method as per the KP500.
You also need a very good internet connection. It can be a little slow, but it can't drop out, or the utilities will error out.
The USB end looks right. Should work.

I'll try again tonight

Not to sound funny, or anything, but it's likely time to get a new or newer phone. I had the V and it was fine when it was new. It's obsolete now and not worth messing with. Just my two cents. I'd move on.

Obviously you have not read this whole thread thoroughly, he has other (newer) phones, someone gave him this phone.

I'm still using my Optimus V, it's over 3years old still with original battery, original sdcard, heck they got kit-kat running on this thing, i may never get a new phone, just my 2 cents. :)

Not trying to be sarcastic or anything, this phone has been bricked twice, dropped more than twice, and gotten wet at least twice, you can't kill this phone. :)

I've got a HTC G1 (OG Android represent!) running Android 2.2.1 (my primary since I borked my One, CM6), my One (being restored atm, now S-Off'd and running OMniROM 4.4.2, need to re-set my SIM now w/ AT&T), Nexus 10 (running 4.4.2), iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1), Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE (Android 4.1.2, Conquest 9.4)

I've got newer, flashier devices. I wanna unbrick this because I enjoy tinkering. Also, the Optimus V was my original Android phone (my first device was an Acer a500 tablet).

That being said, no dice on letting the LG tool try. Same thing, error upon device communication. I'm at a loss here.

I could have you send it to me and I could fix it. I had to put my computer (along with a bunch of other non-assential things) in to storage until I have more permanent housing.
Can do when situation improves.

If I can't figure it out by then, sure. I'd pay you for the time and effort. I haven't given up yet. Temp bricked my One but now that it's up again, realized just how temperamental adb can be

I would do for free. It would just be a challenge for my mind.
Might be awhile before I'm in a position to have a place for my computer.

GOT IT DOING SOMETHING NEW! :p :p :p

Now, for the bad news. It's no longer looping a LG logo. It's looping at a blank screen... Tried a different USB port and cable, still got errors in all the same places, and now no LG logo.

OK.
I guess you could send it to me. Once I can get computer from storage setup, I'll fix (Windows XP Professional on an 80GB PATA hard drive and Xubuntu on the 80GB SATA, with 64 bit architecture and 3.20 GHz Pentium 4). If you want, leave me a PM so we can discuss how to get it to my location.
