deffinetly seems like a connection problem. Try one time letting the LG mobile support tool upgrade the phone ( it won't be able to, but it might help the connection). Then close app and retry. Might take several tries.Did u disable the user control and the security sometimes the security kick azz with the Trojan threat .
The LG Mobile Support tool was just needed to help establish connection. Once it is used (it should have failed to update) then it was supposed to be closed.
Then the KP500 is used, but will error out several times before working. Just keep pulling battery and starting over with the KP500 until it works.
If after tenth try and it doesn't work, use the ZV5 KDZ. Using the same method as per the KP500.
You also need a very good internet connection. It can be a little slow, but it can't drop out, or the utilities will error out.
The USB end looks right. Should work.
Not to sound funny, or anything, but it's likely time to get a new or newer phone. I had the V and it was fine when it was new. It's obsolete now and not worth messing with. Just my two cents. I'd move on.
I could have you send it to me and I could fix it. I had to put my computer (along with a bunch of other non-assential things) in to storage until I have more permanent housing.
Can do when situation improves.
I would do for free. It would just be a challenge for my mind.
Might be awhile before I'm in a position to have a place for my computer.

Try to give it fastboot commands.
To make sure you have the sdk folder setup properly in you Linux Distro read this: https://www.linuxdistrocommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=1621
OK.
I guess you could send it to me. Once I can get computer from storage setup, I'll fix (Windows XP Professional on an 80GB PATA hard drive and Xubuntu on the 80GB SATA, with 64 bit architecture and 3.20 GHz Pentium 4). If you want, leave me a PM so we can discuss how to get it to my location.
