i thought you could root the ota and go back to 1.5
If you are on OTA 2.1 it is VERY possible and VERY easy to go back down to 1.5. no-idea, PM me if you need help. search the forum this has been covered.
Just rolled back my wife's phone to 1.5 from the ota because of the phone going silent. Now no more silent issues and the process was very easy.
Great to hear!!, Glad to know I'm not the only one who had problems with 2.1
and happy to be back on 1.5.
Yea just root your phone and then flash back to 1.5 and disable the OTA notifications so when you are 1.5 if doesn't keep bugging you to upgrade.
Easy fix just look for how to root your phone and then look for how to go back to stock.
Running OTA 2.1, you do NOT need to root, to be able to flash back to 1.5.. Are you saying this because if you are on 2.1 OTA, and then root, then flash back to 1.5 would you still be rooted..? I have no experience with rooting, but I do know that running 2.1 OTA, you do not need to root to re-vert back to 1.5.
I told him to root because if he doesn't and just flashes back to 1.5 he will keep getting the OTA notification like every 15mins which can get annoying fast.
If he roots he can disable the OTA and won't get bugged by OTA notification.
hmmm something to think about. i would like to be able to teather and apps to sd....
I'd really like to know were you are getting your information, because I know it isn't from first hand experience. It really bugs me that you have no idea what you are talking about and giving out false crappy information. To tell someone to root there phone simply because of an OTA notification is ridiculous, rooting is something that can takes weeks to month learning the information before jumping into something that can brick your phone. No-idea don't listen to this obvious noob he has no idea what he is talking about. I have been back on 1.5 for awhile, and I can tell you from FIRST HAND experience that the ONLY time you will get an OTA notification for 2.1 is whenever you re-boot the phone. End of story. It isn't annoying at all. to me it is no different than having to apply the airplane trick to 2.1, actually this is easier.
