Help Is there an outage going on?

My 3g isn't working, and my text messages aren't sending. I've to keep toggling Airplane Mode on and off again for them to send. Anyone else experiencing this? I live in Atlanta, Georgia, by the way.

Select the active app. Ignore the"call VM" message. It might take 2-3 tries. If after trying this you still dont have service, their probably working on it.

Something has been happening with my 3G, too. Even the toggling of airplane mode was not helping. It is catch as catch can for me.

Just a wild guess here, but I'd say that any 3G performance issues may have to do with Virgin basically giving the phone away (for sub-$70) and overselling the service. Business as usual.

KryptoNyte myte be ryte. There were other folks grabbing them when I snatched the two I picked up from Best Buy on Wednesday and Friday! 'Scuse me very much - I come in peace!

My phone does okay checking email and texting, and it's fine with calls, but I've pretty much given up browsing the Internet over Virgin's 3G service. It's not hard to determine that speed problems are Virgin mobile's issue when you can get download speeds of 600kbps to 1000kbps in the early AM hours, but can't even pull 50kbps sitting the same spot around noontime.

But hey, it's smartphone service for the individual on a budget.

I've only had Virgin mobile slightly over a week but even in my poor reception area 3G has always functioned.

It's like the old days on dial up. The more people that are using it, the less bandwidth there is to go around.

Exactly! (300 boud omg, then we thought we were all that when we got 28.8 rofl) No different than driving somewhere when you know there will be traffic at certain times of the day. Silly to think you'll get there any faster than during off-peak hours. ;)

Geeze.. you tend to bring back memories I hadn't thought about in ages. :p

:) My first online experience was in 1984. Commodore 64 and Compuserve, baby!

I don't remember what my first computer was, I just remember it had Windows 3.1... and I remember vehemently telling my x that "you'll put that THING on my new kitchen table over my dead body" (which is exactly where it went.. I was addicted on day 2). :p

No issues here in rural Ohio....but 3G works well here all the time. Atlanta might need more towers or something, I found my service in NYC to be a bit spotty.
