Is there any way to imrove responsivity of th touch screen??

Hey guys.. Don't you think, typing long messsages or emails on this phone is a great pain in the back, if using your fingers only?? It is for me atleast..
I was wondering if, there is any way we can improve the responsivity of the touch, making it easier to type things there...I don't usually prefer the landscape mode, because it doesn't let you see where you're typing. I am even planning to buy an an droid phone with a physical qwerty keyboard and have zeroed in on either sony erricson's xperia mini pro or samsung galaxy 551.
Please help me with my dilemma and make me deceide something.

A bluetooth keyboard would allow you to type more accuratly, but i'm not too sure on any good ones.

There is a free app called GO keyboard which is pretty good and has predictive text.
