Help Is this a problem with my Droid X camera? Help!

When I use the camera, it will not take photographs correctly. It will beep and show me a green box. I assume that's focusing. Then ... nothing.

The ONLY time it takes a photo is if I literally swipe my camera across the image I want to take. I don't know how to describe this accurately. Take your phone, put it up like you're taking a photo, then move it abruptly from left to right. Obviously, all your shots will be blurry.

I am new to Android ... maybe I have an auto focus setting wrong. But this should be really easy to use! Point, auto focus, click ... done.

Will not work normally.

Are you pressing the button down further after you get the box/green square? I believe it is a 2 step button just like on the original Droid so after the beep/green box you need to press the button down the rest of the way.
 
^^ If that doesn't work, then go back to Verizon and see if they can replace it. It could be a faulty device.
 
there should be a way to snap a picture using the touchscreen too... thats what the Verizon rep told me at the Droidlanding contest in boston
 
i dont feel like making a new thread so i guess i'll just ask here. i heard the camera is set at 6mp even though it's an 8mp camera, how do i change it to 8mp. i've never used an android device before :(

Apps < Camera < Menu < Settings< Picture Size
 
yeah uh, where's menu? i just see scenes, effects, flash, and switch to. also the photo roll.

edit: wow nevermind, have to use the physical button. lol man im dumb thanks

HAHAHAHA dont be so hard on yourself...we all have dumb question...some of us just dont ask :D
