The next update will be gingerbread. It's currently in phase 2 testing at Verizon

Possibly...
One of our resident gurus 'tweeted' the other day about an update in the works and to tell people to get their root done now because all of the currently known temproot holes have been patched.
It could be gingerbread.. but I doubt it.
A) I saw that thread
B) I'm chicken$%^t - not rooted, probably never will be
C) I'm confused as $%#@!!!
I swear - like 3ish months ago - that HTC issues something saying that they would NOT lock the bootloaders (ala Moto), or, am I imagining things?
You can rest assured that Verizon wants it locked.
The bolt has a locked bootloader.. yes.
It was locked from day one, and that was before this policy of theirs was in place.
AFAIK it was carrier dependent?
You can rest assured that Verizon wants it locked.
Yes the bootloader was locked, but not signed and encrypted like the Sensation and E3D are.
I wish they would sell phones set up like the Nook color--put an OS on the SD card, BAM, risk free alternative.
I wish they would sell phones set up like the Nook color--put an OS on the SD card, BAM, risk free alternative. No voided warranty, etc. Saw a friend's this afternoon running Froyo (Honeycomb is out there, too, but sucks down more battery supposedly). Take out the SD card, restart, BAM, vanilla Nook. It can be rooted, too, but why bother? Froyo was running like a champ on it. I had screen size envy, lol.
"Some of the fixes are to include an issue with SMS/MMS messages going to the wrong contact"
Man, how many times have you sent the text to the wrong person because of this? Even did it on my D1.
