Long time users of this site know that what is being experienced now is unusual, and, having followed updates posted by Phases, that the site will be back to its old self, perhaps with improvements as well, soon.

Something's happened somewhere in the pipe. There are over 4900 users active right now and it's flying like manure off the proverbial digging implement.

Perhaps some of the issues here have to do with the downstream routers?

is the messaging system broken? I cant seem to sent PM's to anyone. My "sent" folder is empty, and there is no history of me ever replying to messages.
Not that I can see. Just sent a couple myself within the past few minutes.

Be sure to have the settings the way you want them in the Edit Options > Private Messaging section of your Control Panel ("User CP" up at the top left of the page).

Hi guys.
I don't mind ads on web pages. I know the business model requires 'em. And I'm pretty good at not seeing 'em.
However, I do mind clicking on a link in the forum and waiting 5 seconds to be told
The webpage at http://neverstill.com/openx/www/delivery/afr.php?n=ad16011c&zoneid=24&cb=INSERT_RANDOM_NUMBER_HERE might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
before i can read the wonderful content about just how fast Launcher Pro is, etc.
I feel better after venting.

Is it just a coincidence that whenever neverstill.com is either down or experiencing database errors, we are too?
Phandroid AND NeverStill are down as I type this. Android Forums is also very sluggish this morning. There has to be a connection..
Never Still is taking quite a toll on the sites.

Interesting; about an hour ago I posted in another thread about "connecting to neverstill.com" hanging for nearly a full minute before the page will load.. any page at this site.
It was that way a few weeks ago, as well.

When ever they're down or experiencing database errors, so are we. When ever NeverStill is running great, so are we. I've been keeping close tabs on this for the last few weeks..
The fact that the site hangs up trying to connect to Never Still tells me that Android Forums is dependent on it for what ever reason. We need to move away from them.. IMO.
From what I can see they are the folks that built these great sites.. they're not the host. I don't particularly see a need to have to connect to them every time we're trying to browse this site.

Well, then we should remove that "feature" and just send monthly traffic reports to Never Still.

But, don't forget, I'm just guessing about that.

Alright, so I asked Rob..
Rob owns NeverStill and it acts as the ad server for Android Forums.
NeverStill goes offline due to ads that run and get stuck. It isn't the fault of NeverStill's server. So, when NeverStill drops down, Android Forums is constantly trying to fetch the ad data and it ultimately ends up slowing us down.
