That is also an update from 2.0 to 2.1. I would imagine that an update from 1.5 to 2.0 or 2.1 will be a bit different. I also doubt that Verizon would let their networks get overloaded trying to update both Android phones at one time like that. A patch is one thing, but an OS rollout on 2 different phones on the smae day?

This is the site that verizon refrences you for a manual download. I got the 1.6 update here befor the push. Like I said they reference this site for the download manualy but they dont guarantee the site since its not officaly from verizon for the OTA push.

I have not idea when the Eris will receive 2.0 or something better, but I will just wait patiently until it happens.
Well This is my take on it, I just read that they will be releasing Android 2.1 Release 1 in January 2010!!!

Is it really THAT important to have this update immediately and to continue starting threads about it? They said Q1 which means it could be on March 31 so, in the meantime, find a hobby to occupy your time. Maybe crocheting or coin collecting.

how'bout this for an idea: change the name of the thread and everyone come up with their own craziest speculation on when the update will come out, give us some random link from "the inter-net" and let's all follow it and see who's right

Huh? LOL... But seriously... doesn't it feel like we are way closer to getting root status? Why does it even matter when 2.1 comes out.. and btw, I am one of those people who doubts it will come out tomorrow.
I hope so. I'm sick and tired of the anticipation. If not tomorrow then for the rest of the quarter it will be like christmas morning. Running down to my phone to see if there is an update ready.
