Root Isaac`s CM7 Overclock Kernel (Out of Date see notes in first post))

is there a way we can add the overclock to the kernel without breaking any of ticker's fixes?

you could probably use dsixda kitchen to decompile the boot.img from cm7 and umph kernel... then put the clock table from umph kernel into cm7's and repack then flash cm7 with the custom kernel in it :p

like i said "maybe" as i am not 100% sure on this....

Ill take care of that some time this week with some extra goodies too...

Edit: Well I was laying down and Ziggy got to post before me, but I haven't checked the progress of that kitchen but didn't the kitchen have problems with boot.img's.

not that i know of... i dont have a linux machine so i have to just trust it LOL! :D

Idk what FFC (wait, front facing camera?) is, I'm being a **** but this made the proximity sensor flicker again. Which is just fine as it wouldn't even turn the screen back on before. I was about to revert. Think I'll stay here and enjoy this OC ability instead. =]

Edit: Eh, Front facing camera not necessary for me but I'm liking the speed. =]

I've committed the changes to my current kernel repo for OC capabilities in CM: https://github.com/ikarosdev/triumph-kernel-msm7x30/commit/34c14574ac2ca4f6d2595b1e785620e603019b05

This can be found in the 2.6.32.9-chaos-CM-OC branch. If the new zImage is packed with a boot image from TG's latest CM7 beta, everything should work.

EDIT: I should mention that this kernel also has 2 other governors not found in TG's kernel (interactive and minmax).

EDIT2: Austrie PM'ed about the kernel. I'm guess he'll be putting it together for you guys. Enjoy.

isaac... do you think you could make a guid to building this kernel in either linux or cygwin? i want to mess with this kernels, but i dont know where to start when it comes to setting up the enviroment and such. but i have been talking to pwnyourace and he gave me some tips on getting undervolt in these kernels! :D

id also like to see this :)

great work everyone im looking forward to being able to get back to 1.47ghz on my mt. CM7 is sweet as can be, but i also miss the speed boost. was hitting 3500-3800 quadrant scores average.

Cheers to all!

I set to 1.9 and crashed, i guess i have one of those that can't go over 1.5 which is okay. 1.5 is sufficient enough.

Thanks

This kernel breaks things in the current CM7 build. There is a different post on the forums that has a more current one.
