Root [issue] framework-res.apk

I keep getting the error message "not implemented" when using 7zip to swap files/pngs inside the framework before I decompile it. I don't know if this happened today or if its been like that for a while bcz I haven't messed with framework in some time now

Has anyone come across this issue?

If you have, how did you fix it?

Meaning?

I open two files with 7zip all the time to move from one right into the other one, never had an issue. I can play with systemui with no problems. I restarted the computer, reinstalled 7zip, but nada, still does the same thing. Its like the framework res apk is the only one having this issue. Which sucks bcz I can't decompile and I had found a way to remove/toggle am/pm by editing the military time into regular time and now I can't test it ugh!

If you have the same apk open in multiple windows and you try to write files to it, it will throw up an error. That's what I meant.

But....check this out. I pulled a stock framework from a backup I had and a current one from the rom I'm running now. As a good practice I always throw the stock png folder (hdpi) into my current one before I decompile so I can compile with no errors. But I found that is better to just make all the changes on the stock one then transfer the resources or classes to the current one using 7zip. I renamed the stock framework to stock and left the current one alone. I don't see how all these may cause the issue as I so the same for the systemui and I have no problems. For the frameworks I can neither use the png trick nor can I just edit the stock bcz ill have no way to put the resource in the current one.


Edit: also, restarting would've closed anything that was open multiple times

I would use a different program. Try this.

haha that absolutely the opposite of what you would ever want to do...

if you add your changes to the stock version, after you recompile and move the changes to the 'other' apk, your overwriting whatever it had with stock and your 1 change.. lol so you will lose the power menu mod from mt and many other changes found in our custom roms.. you may even not get it to run in a rom because it will be missing resources from other things for that rom etc... just dont do that lol

i can try winrar when i get home today and see what happens. the weirdest thing is that it doesnt do it with anything else but with my current framework-res.apk

something's gotta be wrong with it bro.. if your having this many issues with 7zip on the 1 apk, odds are it's not going to work good when you flash it to your phone lol... maybe start over again..? now that you see what can happen lol be a lil more careful, test your additions one by one when adding them we all been there bro!

So right after i pulled the framework from my phone i have the issue, before any edits or mods, what can you tell me now? lol

so i have a messed up framework?
