Help Issue with microphone

Is anyone having problems with the microphone? When I record a video with the rear camera the sound is muffled when only a few inches away. When the subject is several meters away you can't hear anything being said. Is this an issue with mine or are others having this issue. The same thing happens when I try to make a call on google talk. I have to speak directly into the microphone to be heard.

I ended up taking it back because of this issue. I tried the demo model and also we opened up another new one and both of those had the same issue. I spent an hour in the store while they tried to figure out why and nobody could work it out.

I am as well. I believe it's because the mic is not only under the glass but faces the person holding the tablet thus creating a barricade of sound and I believe the only way to correct this would be with an external mic

Are you saying that you are not having the issues Briank was having? I'm having the same issue and its terribly frustrating....one of the main reasons I bought tablet was to make testimonial recordings. I've researched all of the net and can't seem to fin much on the subject.

I never thought of it but it is muffled. I don't care myself but I could see how it would not be good for what you need it for.And as far as an external mic I don't know if it will accept one.
