Help Issues with my Evo.... Suggestions?

Couple things about my phone that kind of bug me-

1. Videos- When watching videos I take with my phone the video comes out all choppy and seems to freeze and cut 2 to 4 second chunks out of what I recorded. It will do this throughout the entire recording making what I film almost unwatchable.

2. Internal space- I don't have an obscene amount of apps and any I can put on the SD card I do so. I also try to empty out my texts and stuff periodically. Yet I am down to less than 70 Mb of space. I doubt we will be getting many more large updates for the evo but if we did I wouldn't even have the space on my phone to hold it. Eventually I'd have to delete all my apps just to fit phone updates. Is this just a really lame oversight they made when putting out the evo or do smartphones always have barely enough space on them to support future updates and stuff?

3. Load time after playing a game or something- Most frequent and common example- After playing angry birds (which seems to drain my battery at 2 or 3 percent per minute all by itself) and exiting the game, instead of going straight to my home screen I get a white screen that says HTC for a few seconds and then all my widgets have to reload and my apps from the SD card also have to reload. My phone hasn't always done this but is performing MUCH slower now than before.

Are these common issues? Any suggestions as to something I could do to improve any of them? Thanks in advance for any advice.

1. What kind of SD Card do you have? That might be caused by lag. Either the the system lagging due to low memory which is usually not a problem on Android, or a lag trying to write to a substandard SD Card.

2. All I can tell you is that if their are any big updates they generally can be downloaded and put on via a computer so having a massive amount of memory wouldn't be necessary. I hover aroudn 50mb and have for the last year or so. No issues!

3. Sound like Sense is reloading. Not idea why though. Perhaps an app issue. Do any other apps cause that? Are you using a different launcher by chance? Something like ADW or LauncherPro?

My SD card is an 8 GB samsung micro SD. Dont know if they are good or not but its not a bad brand.

I didn't know about the via computer option. I just see when my phone says there is an update (like the last gingerbread one) and it is over 100 MB I figured that all that 100 MB went on to my phone and stayed there.

The sense reloading thing happens genrally when I exit a game. Which is typically angry birds but I have had other games in the past and it does it when I exit those as well. it started doing this only a few months ago though. I was thinking it could have to do with storage space maybe. If the phone has an internal storage of 1 GB and i'm down to 50-100 MB, I would think that could slow things down. But if the entire internal memory is taken up by nothing more than system updates, shitty bloatware and system files and stuff, I would have to say that only putting a gig on it was a TERRIBLE idea.

I have no way to know for sure that's your problem. Maybe it's a bad card? My only suggestion would be to try another and see how it works. Even if you just borrow a friends card for 5 minutes to record and test. Then if it doesn't have issues, buy a new card.

Sprint usually posts them on the website for download. It'll just be a program that pops up. You connect via the usb cable and hit start. Maybe a few "I agree to ___" boxes that you have to check off.

Can't really help you with the Sense rebooting other than to tell you that's what it sounded like.

you could always root your phone that way you can get rid of the bloatware and a lot of custom roms are much more slimmed down and optimized to be faster. if you get a class 4 or higher sd card you could even partition your card and move the entire apps to the card and free up even more space on your phone. i have 160 apps or so on my card! now do not confuse this with apps2sd. that does not really move the entire app to the card. only part of it is moved. read this guide if you are interested in it:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html

Sense is reloading because you have a lot of cache You could search for a cache cleaner on the market or you can go to applications and manually delete cache from there. If you decide to root following Ocn's suggestion when you have a recovery there is a wipe in there.

cleaning cache will help give back some space.
