Issues with SMS and MMS though Hangouts

Having some issues sending SMS and MMS messages through hangouts the last day or so. I'm on at&t and have never had any issues with my nexus 5 with hangouts. Seems the stocks messaging app is also acting up. Tried a reboot,,,and its still happening. Any ideas?
 
I had a hard time sending an MMS image yesterday but it went fine through the stock messaging app.
 
Yea it's happening with both hangouts and the stock messaging app.

When I put it in airplane mode everything will work fine afterwards? Did some research and it seems to be random the people it affects.
 
What I also noticed is sometines a message just won't go though (SMS) and I'll have to tap to resend? And this will happen out of nowhere.
 
Do you have get an error code? Do you have a signal booster where your at and is it a specific area or everywhere you have the issues?

Its pretty much random where it happens, just says try again, and it will keep doing that with both sms and then mms. Just happens out of nowhere. And weirdly enough its while I have plenty of service. I'm never really in areas that don't have any service.

I'll give at&t a call like someone suggested and see what they say.

I can't speak to AT&T's service but anytime I have ever had that issue it has been due to Sprint working on a tower or some other network issue, even though I had full bars.
 
It could be multiple things that's causing it I would definitely call your carrier and report the issue and see what they say
 
Hangouts on my sprint s4 glitches when sending MMS while the stock messages doesn't. Sometimes it will say sent but will never send. Also it will think it failed when it really sent.
