Help Issues with WIFI turning on...

Posted this elsewhere, but its gone unresolved and its frustrating me, so Im posting it here in hope of finding a fix.

Im guessing its probably something I did, but here it goes.

Like the title states, the wifi is not turning on. I check the box to turn it on, and it thinks and tries for about 15 seconds and then turns it off. Im running Perfect Storm ROM now, but it was doing this with VirusROM and Twisted Sense as well. Im using the 4.4.2 kernel now, but Ive flashed a couple others with the same issue. I have tried turning on airplane mode, like has worked for other people with similar but different connectivity issues, but thats not worked. Ive restarted a few times and still nothing.

It did turn on the night before, and was fine till I rebooted. Not quite sure what the trick is here, but Im stumped. Thanks in advance for any help!

It turned on for a while last night, and then since I restarted it keeps telling me unable to scan for networks then turns WiFi off.

I have the extended battery, but have had no WIFI issues at all. However, I'm not rooted. Can you manually add a network (vs scanning for one)?

Nope, it turns wifi right off and wont let it turn on. Ive had NO issues since last night when I switched to the 1400 mah battery -_-

Not the same as your problem, but I've noticed if I have saved a WiFi Network and I'm in range of it, it won't connect until I manually go into menu>settings>wireless networks and then it immediately connects. Super annoying. Maybe they're related??

I dont know, but Im starting to suspect that the extended battery door is screwing with the wifi signal some how. Im no engineer, but through trial and error(switching between 1400 and 2750 battery and doors) the problem can be recreated. -_- What kinda chitlins is this? 1400 lets it work and 2750 doesnt....-_-

I have an extended battery and have lost WiFi about once a day since installing it. Reset on Westel 327W router makes the problem go away for about a day.

Also lost WiFi on Acer 7741Z laptop a day ago. Reset router and problem went away. Have since connected Acer by ethernet cable but WiFi still disconnected on Thunderbolt this morning.

Looks like extended battery may somehow interfer with Wi Fi. Will conduct experiments to isolate the problem further.

Atleast I'm not crazy. LOL. Well, this time. I've been using my 1400 mah at home.

Hi...I'm having the same issues regarding my Wi-Fi staying on or even connecting. I cannot go online (on my phone) onto any site because an error message reads that I must connect to Wi-Fi and it shows that I am already connected.

Also, and another major frustration for me is when I am already on the web and get knocked off for the same reason and with the same error message.

Found out by accident, as my Palm Pre hotspot was on in my granddaughter's room and the movie that I was unable to download (from the Blockbuster site) due to Wi-Fi connectivity issues, suddenly started to download. So, that's what I have to do to get and to stay online...initiate my Palm Pre hotspot. Very strange!?

I am grateful for these forums as I am new to this type of phone and I am really enjoying it even with the constant issues which I know in time will be resolved. So, it looks like I'm here to stay for awhile.

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this issue and for all who contribute to help others!

Melia :)
