It will only get better.

The point of this forum and any of the others is to not only point out the positives but also the negatives of a device as to provide anyone visiting these forums with as much information as possible so that they can make a decision before spending their hard earned money buying a device with only "fanboy" feedback. The Evo's shortcomings and me pointing them out obviously upset you and thats ok because educated discussion is what its all about. I as well as you both own the Evo and we both have different opinions of the device, which is great! It would be terribly boring if everyone was a fanboy now wouldn't it?

I enjoy the banter it is how good information is posted and users can form an opinion based on both sides of the argument..

What else you got I have a few hours to kill.. :D

hahaha.. I'm sure I can come up with more.. I enjoy good discussion also.. I dont mean any hard feelings here or to upset anyone believe me. I for one own the Evo and the Incredible and for the life of me cannot decide between the 2. LOL... :D:D:D

maverick I run my phone with live wallpapers, GPS on, heavy use and get way more than a day of battery life. You are continuing to spread misinformation about the battery.

WiMAX isn't going anywhere even if LTE comes around, which is promised later this year but it will be covering next to no one. Keeping it in context that the typical person has their phone for 2 years (possibly a bit more), its at that point where LTE build-out will even be viable for use on a phone. Phones will roam to WiMAX where LTE is not available. This means that the EVO will be possessing the best combination of speed and coverage for the majority of the time people own it.

If you didn't want to put a damper on the positive attitude of this thread you should have kept your comments to yourself.

Then you must be the only one with an Evo getting more than a day usage with all that stuff on and using it...Weird...

I get most of a day and am more than pleased with it. When I get a long-life battery, it should be much improved. Do the GSM/CDMA tweak and enjoy better battery life.

Enlighten me on the GSM/CDMA tweak? I'm not familiar with that.. I'm willing to try anything that helps...

( Again though, why should I have to do any of these "tweaks" to get a phone to operate as it should have out of the box? The average user will NEVER know about these tweaks and will just be miserable with the poor battery performance)

So you are a liar too???

Incredible is the worst for call quality and reception...THE WORST.. Returned mine after a week...adios. Hello EVO.

Pathetic. Point made. Again

4G is working great for me. Faster than most people's home broadband setups ;). Whats to complain about?

Last night I averaged 7-8 Mbps. Additionally, all of these tests have been performed with 1 bar.

Yeah I did return it, then realized how much I wanted it again and ended up purchasing again... Figured I could do side by side comparisons between Evo and Incredible which is what I have been doing.. So what point did you make? Whats pathetic? The truth about the commonly known signal problem of the Incredible? Are you still upset that I exposed truth of your dear Evo? Sorry if I upset you, wasnt intended.

Those are excellent averages!!! Certainly not the norm from what I have seen.. I wish I could see those averages on my Evo....:(

Not only is battery life a big issue of the Evo, but according to these very forums so is the design issue of the screen lifting due to poor glue I guess or something. I for one do have some small light leakage, I'm hoping this doesnt become a bigger problem as well... Just something else to look for before spending your money...

(wait hold on...Pathetic. Point made. Again. :D) Sorry had to do it....

I don't have 4g yet, I was hoping sprint was going to fire it up on release day but that never happened. At least I'm in an announced market. I am thinking by the time sprint actually moves to LTE I will want the EVO2 anyway.

Hey Maverick96, can I be your friend? Your AMAZING !!! :p

So sitting here in a new cafe I am checking out and I get 4G here. Very nice.

So realize it only gets better from here. Sprint will continue to build out 4G. Today is the worst we will ever have it. Tomorrow, the next day, and every day after, our service will just keep getting better.

So frustrated sometimes? Just try and remember that.

thank you captain obvious :) Thats what AT&T users have been living with all this time :)

90% of the speedtest taken will produce an inaccurate results when testing using Wimax..

They are based on the users IP address, Wimax does not assign the device a local IP address yet, Even if you choose a local server the test will be incorrect..

Agreed... I have this problem with 3G.. I get servers in the middle of the country instead of local and speedtest.net's app doesn't allow for searching servers.. just gives you servers from where the IP is located...

in my opinion, Iphones and Ipads are for people who like to get hustled by companies.

::cough:: APPLE

I dont understand why everyone is making such a huge deal about the battery life and other small defects in the phone. Just be happy we have a detachable battery (unlike the iphone) and a CHARGER... which is used to CHARGE your phone. Do people expect no battery loss ? its going to happen, take it or leave it.

light leakage??? BIG DEAL! That shouldnt turn you away from this amazing device. If your so picky about the build, go get hustled by apple and pay 300 for old technology. Then when it break, pay another 300 hahaha

how does apple hustle people. sure apples advertising and marketing makes it seem like every product of theirs is the end all to everything but they do not deceive us like best buy and others do (with things like monster cables). its ultimately up to the consumer to decide how great a companies product is regardless of the responsibility that should be in place by the company.

there are many reasons im switching to evo but build quality is not one of them. im sure my htc will be built fine but imo apple knows how to make quality hardware. im still using my 6 year old powerbook to type this and it runs like new and any issue ive ever had warranty or not apple has great customer support on line and in store and i hope htc will be on par with that.

I am getting 1 to 2 mbps consistently on Sprint 3G so not concerned with speed. 4G is good for simultaneous voice and data. On ATT 3G I was getting 300 Kbps to 700 Kbps so this is so much better. As far as LTE it's still 1-2 years away. By then your contract on Evo be up so not concerned about wimax vs lte either.

I actually like the battery life I am getting, so people should speak for themselves regarding the battery issue. It is obvious that there are varied experiences, you even get that from the reviews. I don't think people are lying, its just that there is little clarity on why some are experiencing good battery life and others are not.

Regarding apple, this seems like a political debate, where opinion is past off as fact, and too many people think they are defending a country or something when you don't like their platform. As usual, the common people always lose, while the rich get richer.

btw, I love my macbook pro, and especially its operating system, but the build quality on my first intel mac had serious flaws, and had to be taken back. I bought three imacs for my job. One had to be taken back because of a faulty motherboard. I believe that apple makes good over priced hardware, but even it can have flaws. With that said, if people think they like android operating system, they should check out what osx can do -talk about a creative platform.

I will buy any product that works well for me. Android, ms. apple, whatever is good.

If you're going to be patriotic -be committed to buying the best you can at the time for the best price. Now for many of us it is the evo with sprint, tomorrow it could be something not yet invented.;)
