Help "Item not found" when trying to Update

Lurker
Recently I have been having problems with the automatic "Update" process on my Evo 4G and have had to Cancel and then Update Manually. However now my phone displays the warning of "Not Found - The requested item could not be found" when I attempt to manually update Google Maps and Facebook. I have tried every way I can think of to access the update for these two programs, but it appears that they blocked somehow. Any suggestions as to how to update programs that "could not be found"? Thanks.

Welcome to the forums!!! :)

Have you tried to manually delete the apps and then redownload from the market fresh?
Try that and see if it works. Sometimes things get corrupted and a fresh install "usually" fixes it. ;)

Deleting and re-installing the application does not resolve the problem.

First, Facebook is one of those applications that can't be deleted from an Evo 4G on Sprint.

But what is much worse is the experience I had with my purchased version of Juice Defender. It has the same "could not locate item" warning so I deleted it thinking I would re-install it. But Juice Defender is now no longer found in my Marketplace, even when I search on "Juice Defender". If I Google "Juice Defender" I can get to the Juicedefender.com website, but I get the "The requested item could not be found" warning as soon as I click the "Try it" button.

How much space do you have left in memory?

We could try to delete all the data of the marketplace in applications and see if that helps resolve the issue could be the problem:

SETTINGS>APPLICATIONS>MANAGE APPLICATIONS>ALL TAB
scroll down to market app tap it and clear cache and then clear data (May have to force close) after doing so then reboot phone and lets see what you get.

If that does not work then your choices are becoming limited. I would back up everything that I need and make sure I have a good copy of it on my computer. You may need to do a factory reset.

I have 131 MB of internal storage available and 6.8 GB left on the SD card. I cleared most of the data storage and then tried to update Facebook - the "file not found" warning was still there. I would like some other suggestion that a hard reboot if anyone has any ideas.

OK take it further clear data for every application that your having the issue force stop them afterword if possible. Then go back to market and clear cache/data again fc that then reboot

Clearing the data caused the Force Stop option to go dark in all cases. Rebooting (turned phone off then back on) did not help and now I have four programs that have this problem. Endomondo requested a backup today, and went to the

Try Mybackup i think it will backup most of your stuff. I never have used it so cant say for sure. I use titanium backup but that's for Root users.

The FIX for this problem is to change the Content Filtering in Market Settings to allow all levels of applications to be displayed.

I found the FIX after updating to the latest version of Market. When I tried to update the blocked programs (Google Maps and Facebook) I got a warning that the "programs were not authorized
