It's 2/23....

There are other video chat clients as far as I know available on the droid market...so Skype can suck it

I've used both Fringo and Tango. It's not the greatest, but it's free and better than nothing. And let me tell you, it would be in a whole 'nother league with a front-facing camera. ;)

I'm trying to stay optimistic on the 24th release date, but who else thinks it is a good sign that skype was removed from the page?

it could very well mean that it was the reason,or 1 of them, for the hold up

I'm very doubtful tomorrow will be release day, but, yesterday was the release of the Atrix and we didn't get the phones in until 4pm, so you never know.

Yeah, I figure there would be something else out there to use. Skype integration just seemed easiest since the person I will be chatting with will be on a Macbook. But I am completely open to other options!

I find it odd that Google doesn't have an app or have it built in to Gchat/talk/whatever the heck they call it these days, since they have it for computers. Or maybe they do and I'm missing something.

Either way, Skype or no Skype, I will continue to *patiently* wait.

I feel like I am the only one interested in Skype. I want the phone as badly as the rest of the crowd, but I also hope Skype doesn't get pushed back past Q1.

Unless someone knows of another video chat client that the TB can utilize?
I think it's a neat feature, but not worth delaying the phone over. IF that's the only reason they're holding it back, that's stupid. Just release the phone and let us enjoy it and push Skype later as an update.

I'm also trying to take the fact that they removed it as a good sign. If they were delaying to put it out with Skype, you'd think they just leave it on the page.

We have to remember that chances are Verizon doesn't care about what our community wants. What matters is the vast majority of the public. If they can integrate a "really cool feature" like video calling with the release of the phone that could very well sell it to your average Joe.

My dad works for the Hyatt Regency Hotel and was telling me last night that Verizon had a corporate conference at their hotel all week last week. He said that when he asked one of the VZW big wigs what it was about, they said the release of the Thunderbolt. I freaked out when I realized I could have gotten such good information if he had told me while it was going instead of after.

Is there another skype like video call program that is cross platform? Like TB to PC or Iphone or Mac Book?
