Its October where the hell is my Froyo?!?

Im with uscc and the froyo release for the htc desire is set for october and its october and i dont have it. I dont want to wait anymore! LOL Any info on this would be great

Well, October 1st is October all right.

But.. I'd give them several of the remaining 30 days, just to be on the safe side. ;)
 
I started a thread about this yesterday, too anxious to actually wait until the first day of October. I then happened to read in another thread somewhere that someone from USCC said they are hoping to have Froyo available by the end of the year. I'm thinking why so long myself. Be then it'll be time to update to 3.0.
 
I agree about 3.0, by the time we get 2.2 everyone else will be on 3.0 I have heard from quite a few uscc employees that its coming in october but they dont know when in october. I can't wait that's all i know
 
Why does us cellular blow? The reason I have us cellular is im from the midwest and there area that im from no other carrier can come close to the reception quality that i get from them. Been there and tried them all. btw i believe uscc stands for Us Cellular Company so i guess that would make sense.
 
Lol ok thanks for the heads up. Uscc has been a great xompany and i don't have anything to complain about, besides I want froyo but overall thata minor.
 
I feel your pain. We Droid X users had thought we would get froyo in early August, and it didn't finally hit our phones until late September... so we were all chomping at the bit for quite some time! I would tell you to relax and that it's not that big of a deal like some other people who already had 2.2 were constantly telling us when we were climbing the walls in wait... but honestly, froyo rocks!!!

Lol, not trying to tease you but it is definately a step up from eclair. It's soooo cool having flash support on a phone. And the battery usage breakdown that comes stock is so useful. I haven't heard what all is coming with 3.0 except that it's a brand new UI, but for now I'm really just enjoying my froyo and am so satisfied with it that even if they told me 3.0 was coming out next week I wouldn't really worry much about it.

I mean sure it'll be great once it gets here, but if froyo does for your phone what it did for the DX, you will all be very happy campers indeed!

I'm thinking that there is a possibility that IOWA was referring to the University of Southern California Trojans football team, and not U.S.Cellular.

Could be wrong.
 
Samsung galaxy s is still waiting for froyo aswell, what the heck. I love the phone, but if samsung are this slow to release the os that was already out on nexus one when I purchased this phone, god help us on future updates!!

Is it official yet, are samsung the slowest at releasing this update?
 
Well I'm glad to.hear that its all that it is cracked up to be, i was getting concerned it would fall short of my expectations and leave me wanting more. I'm not really to worried about 3.0 for the simple reason Idk how much more you can really squeeze out of these devices before hardware is going to become the limitation. I mean how otter do u hear about a software update tripping the speed of something. That's just unheard of lol. As for flash im not really worried about im currently running 2.1.1 so i do have "flash lite". The full 10.1 will be really nice. Don't know how a company can keep something under wraps so tight.

Samsung uk have tweeted saying sorry for the froyo delay, and they are working tirelessly to get it released.

The wait continues...

Im talking about their coverage too! They have great coverage every where i go and i have tried all of the other carriers and they dont even compair. Hell At&t and sprint told me i would need to have a mini tower in my house so i would have service and i wouldnt be roaming and they wanted me to pay to have that per month too. Please thats a joke! Im not saying any of the other companies are bad just not good for my area here in the mid west. Besides verizon i got royally screwed over by them a few years back.:mad:
 
I'm patiently waiting for that froyo goodness as well (captivate)

Though my main concern is if it will improve battery life.

What kind of improvement is there going to be with battery life? How much i guess is what I'm asking. My battery on my desire seems to do well but I would love for it to do better. I cant wait for the extra speed and browser speed.
 
You know what i dont even really care anymore because by the time my phone does get it 3.0 will be out and 2.2 isnt going to matter. Its kind of bull shit that when 2.2 comes out that every phone cant get it. Oh well.
 
I agree, its complete bs that different companys release the software updates at different times, and samsung are well and truly messing it up!!!

I think samsung should work on 3.0 now, so hopefully it won't be too long after everyone else like the frito mess.
 
I agree i think they should just forget about the 2.2 update and go with the 3.0 update. 2.2 is "out of date" now with 3.0 around the corner and by the time we get 3.0 if we ever do, they will have 3.2 or 4.0 or something. complete bs! Its a software update send it out and let everyone have it. How would people like it if only certen car dealerships sold a new sports car and only select people could buy them.
