I've already Pre-Ordered, but having my doubts.

here's more proof of the power of the nexus s beating out dual core phones according to quadrant when comparing overclocked phones with custom kernels

ftfy

Says nothing about the question at hand and makes a lot of assumptions - NS4G with the Google update advantage, 3vo with the HTC+dual-core advantage, or future other with the quad-core+whatever-else advantage?

Your position on the Nexus S being great is noted, but now it's just a constant taunting and trolling.

I rarely do this - but as you noted yesterday, it's time for you go spend time in the Nexus S forums.

Thank you Mon man.

However, one note. Did anyone notice how big the green block on the quadrant scores were? :P

Anywho. I'll hopefully be looking forward to this phone either this week or next week.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback, and the truth is... I'm going to stick with HTC. I told their FB page that I would buy with unlocked/unencrypted or vice versa so I'll stick to my word. (Also, forgot to add, I had the HTC Diamond Win Mo Phone too--- Terrible OS haha)

HTC has some great phones, hardware, quality and obviously Customer Relations. A company that takes me seriously. While each phone has it's ends and odds I'm starting to realize the Nexus S 4G might not be exactly as good as the Hype. If, and I say If, a new Unlocked Google Specific ICS Device comes from HTC to the Now Network in a couple months or longer, (not bragging) $500-$700 really won't be too hard to swing for me. Besides I'll be able to sell the E3D and may not want it b/c of my E3D impressions..

Mon - Yes, I've tinkered in the coding/compiling market for a little while, but don't really have the time to play as much as I wish I could. I tend to stretch myself thin in all my hobbies. I do understand how the nightlies work and wasn't expecting perfect... just something better at the time. (It just took some time)

Next, the E3D may be rooted within a month or may not be... not too big of a deal b/c when I had to replace my cracked screen Evo I stayed unrooted for a month trying to see if GB was going to come or not from Sprint.... I decided to root.

All in all I think I was facing a little bit of buyers remorse and was a little anxious as it seems the Hardware wars are def kicking up... It's becoming a joy and an overload at the same time.

Edit: to Elaborate the Nexus not being up to the Hype... The hardware isn't going to be any better than the E3D and well everytime we turn around it seems like the latest and greatest recent GB updates needs an update to fix problems or security!

Unfortunately, you're going to be at risk for security violations unless you click data, bluetooth, etc off all the time. Facebook is a prime example. I am all for social networking, but the best guardian of your personal data is you, in the end. Even iPhones, that stick their users in the proverbial kid-in-the-clear-plastic-ball, have security violations.

I look forward to my E3D. No reservations. I kinda enjoy the 'hardware wars' are kicking up. It's what made PCs as powerful as they are today and still kinda fuels the console battle every 4-5 years.

Tsk tsk - all of us red names look alike... :D :D novox77 is a mod now :)

Srsly - glad you have the choice for you all set. Now all we need is a release date! :p

I understand what you mean, but it seems like everytime we turn around the 2.3 is getting a patch update for fixes... sms/mms or reboot problems as an example

Sigh, I want the Nexus S for early updates, but at this point I don't really feel like getting a phone with outdated hardware. But since the E3D will be unlocked, that's not as much of an issue.

Still though, get to save a hundred bucks with the Nexus S. Hmm...

Is the call quality/reception as bad as some user reviews outline?

3G service has been great. No issues to report on call quality. It's vast improvement over my Hero.

4G service is where things get sketchy. A huge chunk of Nexus S 4G's have a hard time holding a 4G signal, and when you do have a signal, speeds are about 50% slower than all other Sprint 4G phones.

To what extent this matters depends on how you use your phone. Netflix, Youtube, and surfing work great, even while tethered to a PC or tablet, but don't expect things to be Thunderbolt-esque where your phone can hot spot connectivity to all the devices in the home.

They've announced they're calling the rendezvous of Honeycomb and Gingerbread (once again, purported good for phones and tablets) - Ice Cream Sandwich (due before end of this year when announced a few months back).

Yeah, I know. The backlash has started with some just saying ICS and others saying just Ice Cream. Rumor was an Ice Cream Sandwich was easier to differentiate that a bowl of ice cream next to a bowl of FroYo in that statue display they have going on in Mountain View.

I like that. Although I prefer the "Ice Cream" name so much that I would have worked around the confusion by using a scoop of ice cream served in a cone, rather in a cup where it might be confused with froyo.

But then, there's the issue on how to stand up the ice cream cone on the lawn without ugly supports...

such tough decisions for Google, I'm sure.

My thinking is that it could be a symbolic sandwich since it is combining the cell phone and tablet versions of the Android OS.

They could have done it like this:

With a concrete foundation and bars holding it up internally, it'd be fine.
