LMAO yea it is upgradable... so is every android phone ever made, an upgrade just hasnt been made or released yet... lieing bastards. zte is the ONLY one you will get any info from, and it will be difficult to get accurate info, and even more difficult to figure out what info is accurate

let me explain whats going on here, you are getting what is called "the run around" boost is telling you what you want to hear and that the problem is someone else so that you should go bother them. boost representatives dont know a damned thing about it, you would have to get to one of the highest tiers of sprint tech support to get a straight answer, and believe me, that is not easy. i have done it, took about 4 hours, alot of arguing, and i had to know exactly how to talk to the people. you cant be down right rude, but you have to be angry. dont be angry at them, be angry with your phone and have a legitimate problem. mind you, this requires SPRINT customer service, boost is only lower level people, sprint makes all the decisions and does all the testing and work. which even getting sprint people to talk to you is a challenge considering youre trying to waste a bunch of their time and youre not even a sprint customer technically.

you guys wanna go that route then be my guest... otherwise may i suggest going through zte, we actually contacted them on twitter and got the first official word on ours posted publicly, might try that. hit up the zte twitter page and ask them about it, you can also bother them via any other means you can come up with but dont accept their vague answers, vague answers read or copied from a script are mostly what you get back, the whole "please contact your carrier" or "there is no update currently available" or my personal favorite the commonly used "only use official updates" email, are just a bunch of crap to get people to shut up and leave them alone thinking the question has been answered when it really wasnt

most customer service reps have no idea what they are talking about, they will tell you what you want to hear, pass you off to someone else, hang up on you, or read from a script. heres a little story from the recent past you may find entertaining. my mother was on the phone with cricket customer service, not the same company but same general idea, she was having trouble with her phone giving some error about not having enough in her flex bucket, shouldnt have gotten that error its unlimited everything including roaming, so she calls them, they go through the instructions to set an android phone to home only mode, which is a bullshit fix anyway kuz thats just gonna limit her signal when she should be able to roam, i tried to tell her while she was on the phone with them not to let them go but she didnt listen, but of course she trusted them over me(kuz what would i know about it right? lol), so i sat there and chuckled at her as she tried to find menu options that didnt exist, and when she finally gives in and asks for my help i inform her that she doesnt have an android phone, and cricket knowing full well what phone she had gave her the wrong info. her phone doesnt even have an option to set home only

lower level customer service people give everyone the same generic answers no matter whether it applies to them or not, if you want real help you gotta fight your way up the ladder and you gotta know enough to not let them throw you for a loop and pacify you with their crap

I do two awesome voice impressions, one of them is Bill Clinton and the other is an Indian customer service phone representative. Both will bring tears to your eyes laughing so hard.

Its almost not even worth it, ZTE is by far one of the shittiest phone manufacturers I have ever had the decency of buying into. As for Boost/Sprint, they are a bunch of liars. I paid $200 for this damn phone and if I want one lousy update then I should get it. They watch the forums so I hope they see this. People, switch to a carrier who cares and get a phone through a manufacturer that listens. Nexus 4 16gb just dropped to 250... see ya later Boost. Shouldn't have false advertised to your loyal customers to “shut us up" -_-

Sadly, this isn't a surprise. There is only so much to expect from a prepaid service and a budget phone manufacturer. When you purchase a product, it isn't just the hardware that you are paying for. They will release it, eventually. At the end of the day, this is one of the biggest flaws with Android. It's a distribution problem.

well, you guys can go with another carrier if you like, but have you ever heard of the horrible things other companies do? sprint and boost arent great but they never said they were, straight talk sells you an unlimited data plan that after a couple gb of data usage they dont throttle they shut it off... yea umm thats not unlimited. cricket phones cant pick up a signal pressed up against one of their towers and their selection of phones is horrible, tmobile will talk you into a payment plan on a cell phone where you end up paying $90 a month for 3 years and when you finally pay the phone off its been outdated for most of that time and you paid more than it went for anywhere else the day it came out. they all have their own way of screwing you, and if we just get screwed out of good customer service ill take it, i havent needed customer service in years anyway and when i did i knew exactly what i needed before i called so i could give them specific instructions and not have to rely on them to know anything

I've analyzed my other options before and, as junkie said, the alternatives aren't any better. Four companies dominate the cellular market and knowing your limited options, they have little incentive to keep you happy; especially if you are a prepaid customer.

All are so right even Verizon has a bad practice of allowing a third party to bill in on your plan what is called "Premium Messaging" without your permission. Verizon customers beware of this line on your bill, at 9.99 a pop it'll add up quick. I showed this to my boss and recouped hundreds!

sir_cusfreak they updated google keep. it has the reminders and a few other things if thats what you're talking about. i have it on my force

to anyone who reads. zte wont do crap. they are on their own timeframe and no legal obligation otherwise. boost however made a false advertisement.

the only real recourse you can get is to sue them. i'v thought about it. wouldnt really need a lawyer as its a textbook example of false advertising. personally i woudl sue for whatever i think it woudl cost to pay zte to program the update.

it nothign else you would tick boost off being they have to go to court.

what will i do? well. noone can hear me on this phone. the mic and video recorder clicks constantly. i still say there is soemthign screwy with the hard buttons.

i'm within my time to return it.

oh. and there is somethign screwy as triplog simply wont load data, sd card or cloud

yea i mean you get what you paid for, its half the price of anything comparable so ya gotta know there are gonna be some low end pieces here and there. you want overall quality, well i hope you got $400. and verizon is the worst of them all price wise, theyll charge you $50 a month for a handful of texts and 300mb of data after which they will charge you ridiculous overages that i doubt they still do lie about but they have before. im sure all of you have seen the screw up years ago, when they charged .01 dollars instead of .01 cents per kb like they were offering and none of their employees could understand the difference. their network is the best your gonna get signal wise, but their pricing and hidden fees are ridiculous

also, technically thanks to us we cant sue them. by the time they posted that it WAS technically upgradeable to 4.1 and if you wanna get technical every phone can say that kuz it is even if an upgrade isnt available. every android device is upgradeable to any version of android, the question is whether there is an update created yet, which in our case there was, the unfinished version of cm10 counts

Not sure what you mean. It says it comes with 4.1. It clearly does not and is not upgradeable

if it said it came with 4.1 thats one thing, but then that would only apply to people who bought the product during the time that was online expecting 4.1 to be on there. and as far as being upgradeable it is, cm10 is 4.1. is it official? no, is it fully functional? no, but android 4.1 for the force does exist, and also as i said any android IS upgradeable to the newest android even if no one has made an update for it yet or ever plans to, you CAN do it if you build android from source yourself so on a technicality they can say its upgradeable to any version they want. if you want to upgrade to android 4.3 you can, it is upgradeable to android 4.3, youll just have to make a version of android 4.3 for it yourself but it CAN be done

ah i see it now, it does in fact say that it has android 4.1 on it, so yea you might get android 4.1 if you bought one through the website right now, if not then you can go after them but they made no promises to people who already owned the device, or anyone who bought it anywhere but their site, and their claims that its android 4.1 it just says 4.0 are lies...

well. i did buy it from the website. just got it last week. and just got my return authorization today. as far as your last post. thats not true at all. When i hit upgrade. and it tells me i have the latest version. and that latest version is less than the advertised version, this is all a judge would care about. the judge in most cases isnt an idiot and will understand 99 percent of the world will not know how to build an os from source code. and frankly. thats irrelivent as far as the law is concerned. the advertisement says it comes with 4.1. direclty from zte. the "upgrade" being done by enthusiasts means nothing in court. the advertisement is that it comes with 4.1 from zte. that is what they are still advertising.

would only take 40 bucks to sue them. i suggest someone does. wont be me. this phone sucks and i wouldnt keep it even with 4.1

True. you would have to have proof they advertised 4.1 at your time of purchase. a simple screen capture (i thought i took one. irrelivent now) would be proof.

I have evidence that they were promoting the update (everything from build number to what to expect) but immediately after that sprint took everything down. Boost is technically the only one lying here. A lawsuit can be made, someone needs to either screenshot or take a picture of the boost website where it says the phone has jellybean. ID hate to lawsuit them but I can understand why everyone would be pissed. For boost customers it is a $200 powerhouse. The one sv is lesser in hardware but received its jellybean update a month after launch

Just go to the phones page. They have a bunch of phones listed as 4.1 That are actually 4.0.

Honestly. This phone sucks anyway. There is more to a computer than just cpu speed. If the device cannot move data to and from the cpu fast enough the cpu speed won't even help. This phone stock is slow crap. Type a letter then wait... hit home or back and wait... mic is defective... speaker circuitry sucks... i still say there is something screwy with the hard button locations... and ya know what else having a " ' " on the number page rather than a " . " is just stupidity.

Think I'm gonna get the lg phone. Not much more and you get lgs quality. Has rave reviews and isn't much more

Just my not so humble opinion

Btw. Vergin mobile is to Verizon that boost is to sprint. A little more. But not rape me in the ear cost like Verizon and sprint. You get capped after a couple gigs like Verizon. But better customer service. I'm just a cheap bastard.

You know virgin is sprints premium prepaid service, right? This phone also really isn't that bad, most of the reason this phone is sluggish is because of poor programming, not the hardware. And you do understand the number thing is the way the default android keyboard is set up? Not all keyboards are the same. Go take your not so humble opinion else where.
