Maybe we shouldn't be too surprised, but Carphone Warehouse's response was
"Regrettably, Carphone Warehouse doesn't provide updates to the Android operating system itself. These updates are available from the mobile phone network (if the handset is locked to a network) or the manufacturer, in your case Samsung."

I think I'll just got for XEU then. And maybe upgrade to NEAT when I feel a bit braver.

I have a GT-I9100 rooted phone which I am trying to get it back to normal.
I cant find my firmware for my phone through the link you sent so now I dont know what to do!!

Phone: I9100XXLQ6
CSC: I9100XSALP6

Please help

Jelly Bean, Android 4.1.2, releases for the following CSC codes...

GT-i9100

OXX = SLOVAKIA

ARO = ARGENTINA


GT-i9100P

ORA = UNITED KINGDOM (Orange)


(For an explanation of CSC codes, firmware, eligibility, etc; for the Jelly Bean releases... see posts #1, #2 and #3.)

have i got this wrong but from this site it appears that there is now JB firmware for the GT-I9100P in the UK.

Galaxy S2 I9100P Gets Official Android 4.1.2 XXLSQ Jelly Bean Update [Manually Install] - IBTimes UK

It says it is for Orange but the CSC is slightly out.
CSC: I9100PORALS5

Mine is I9100PORAKI3 on gingerbread so will it work or does the KI3 / LS5 bit of the csc not matter ........or does it??:confused::confused:


Please help as i would like JB, pretty please.:D

As per post #1.1, the important part is ORA for the, "P", variant.

You should be able to update via Kies without manual installation. If you do need to install manually, for whatever reason, just follow the instructions in #1.7.

See #1.2 and the link about firmware updates and vanilla installs. Basically, put your card into a USB reader and copy any stuff you wish to keep, photos, documents, music, videos, etc; to your computer and then copy it back after the update to your new card. You can also copy off any stuff from the phone's USB, (Internal), storage by connecting it to your PC by USB and doing the same.

I've checked the CSC code and location and I'm kinda confuse about OXE location because belongs to the following coutries
OXE = GERMANY/OXE = KAZAKHSTAN/OXE = RUSSIA/OXE = UKRAINE/OXE = UZBEKISTAN

So it means if i download any of these firmware, will it work?

Any help would be appreciated

Download and flash the one for your location, not that it makes much difference as they all contain the XW language pack, see, #1.1.

By location you mean where am i? so i have to change my CSC from OXE to PET (which is the CSC from Peru)

Could you tell me if im wrong...

Just to clarify... you are in Peru but have a phone that you want OXE firmware, Russian, Ukraine, etc; on?

IMHO, I would be inclined to flash the Peru firmware which comes with a much more compatible modem for Peru/South/Latin America than the European modem in OXE. See #1.7 and the disclaimer.

No JB yet here in Cyprus. I am tired waiting for it so i am going manually.
Some questions because i am a bit confused (although i read all the posts)

PDA: I9100XWLPD
PHONE: I9100XXLPW
CSC: I9100OXXLPJ

In my opinion i am going for PDA: I9100XWLSS CSC: I9100OXXLS9 (Nordic countries).
Am i correct or not? Maybe it's better PDA: I9100XWLSS CSC: I9100OXXLS9 (Europe)? Or is it the same? Do you know if both contains Greek language?

Any help would be appreciated,

Hello and welcome to Android Forums Stavros3! :)

Ελληνικά language pack, which I believe is Greek, are coded as BD, BY, MA and XW.

Therefore XW, which you already have on your phone, would be fine as per #1.1. Both firmwares mentioned are identical.

So do you suggest any other firmware that is better or I9100XWLSS - I9100OXXLS9 is the latest?

Also, even if the firmware is related to other country, i am not "loosing" my CSC right? So if JB comes in Cyprus, can i update it later?

Ok folks, based on everything I've read here my I9100 should have recieved the JB update some time ago, but Kies says I have the latest firmware at version 4.0.3, which is not JB. The phones CSC is I9100OXXLPH and the phone is I9100XXLPS. So that's a Switzerland extension, and from what I've read on this thread, it should be showing the update to JB is available. Am I missing something?? Any help/guidance would be much appreciated.
