"Jellybean 4.1.2 update"

I think just testers, but one of them nabbed the url from which the device downloads it from. So if you want this, you can download it and install it manually now, just like before. You must be on the latest ics for it to work apparently.

Download: Official DROID RAZR Jelly Bean Update 98.72.16 for Those on Ice Cream Sandwich 6.16.211 – Droid Life

Also: If you are rooted, make sure you back up/protect your root because you won't be after the ota installs.

no workie now

Up and running with JB...All is well, but no circles widget...doesn't really matter to me, just stating that its not there.

I sideloaded the update, then FDR'd....running great.

You know when you reflash with stock firmware, does that change all the root files etc on your phone? Like if a file was missing/corrupted would that be fixed?

What doesn't work, downloading or installing?

I lost root on mine, but I had to go from 215 to 211, then to JB. So somewhere along the way it got lost. I was able to get root back using the razr blade utility i found on another forum.

Must say the interface is very nice, very sleek. Notifications look great now. Good update so far.

Yes, I saw the same thing on Twitter

I haven't tried downloading it yet as I'm waiting until after dinner so I can devote enough time to it. :)

EDIT: Just tried to update and says "no update available at this time." According to the tweet, it's coming out in "stages" so I'm not sure if its a regional thing or what.

Yeah I seen they are rolling it out in stages too. I think they do that so everyone doesn't go and start downloading it and crash severs or something. Yeah I checked a few times today and mine still says my phone is up to date. I will just check next week sometime.

Same here. I'm in no rush - we've waited this long, what's another day or two?

what is/does recovery do?

Recovery is a part of android that allows the user to either wipe data/cache, or install updates to the device. Having custom recoveries such as TWRP or CWM allow users to backup and restore states of their device as well as change the Rom depending on the openness of the device.

Did anyone download and apply the update to a rooted phone? I've read in places that people had there phone bricked because of doing just that. I'm not worried about losing root, I just don't want to brick...
