"Jellybean 4.1.2 update"

I want to upgrade to JB right away, but I'm having problems that I'm hoping someone can help me with.

I already have .211 (never got the Christmas update), made all my backups, etc., then used TiBu to unfreeze the bloatware that came on the phone originally. As far as I could tell, it should have been back to stock outside of being rooted and the rooted apps being present. I downloaded the file from one of the links mentioned earlier in this post (here) and did the following as recommended (also earlier in this post):

Just get OTA Rootkeeper, protect root, temp unroot, restore root, temp unroot again then restore root THEN turn off and install it like normal, then when it comes on, restore root again. DO NOT temp unroot before installing.

It didn't work. I tried wiping cache and performing a factory reset, then repeating the procedure above...still didn't work. Since I'd done a factory reset, of course, I had to then go back in and set up everything all over again, but tried the procedure above again after that in case something had been cleared in the resetting process. Still didn't work. Then I tried unrooting prior to installing (NOT according to the procedure outlined above, but what the heck...). It still didn't work. Here's the error I keep getting:

Verifying update package...
Installing update...
Verifying current system...

Can anyone help me figure out what's going on and how to correct it so I can perform this upgrade? Thanks!

From what I read, the easiest solution is apparently to flash back to complete .211 stock. Might be painful, but seems to fix whatever causes that failed check.

You might since Verizon adds a bunch of thier own apps. I wouldn't chance it just to be safe. T-Mobile might be pushing it out soon since its coming out to us Verizon people. But its up to you if you are will to take the chance of messing your phone up.

No not ed to root your phone. U can side load from the Adobe page or any other

Downloading now too. Orange County, California.

Hope it fixes things. My Razr Maxx is extremely slow and GPS takes 15 minutes to a half hour find satellites. Was about to do a Hard Reset before I saw the update coming.

Yeah, it's painful, but in the long run worth it. I was having some lag issues anyway, and was planning to do a full wipe when the update hit, so it's not that big a deal.

FYI...I used mattlgroff's toolkit to revert to stock .211, then updated from the sdcard, and it was smooth and clean, no problems whatsoever. Now I have to reinstall all my apps, but the biggest potential for problems seems to be past. Thanks for your guidance!

In the end i tried it anyway. Just kept getting a signature verification error, followed by installation abort!
 
I manually loaded the soak test version on my Max last week,but checked my wife's RAZR this morning and the update was there! We r in the Chicago area
 
Upstate NY. JB OTA was waiting for me this morning. Installed on my way to work. No problems, runs very smooth.:)
 
my update keeps failing. i was wondering if anyone had directions on how to flash back to stock so i can try the update again.

Or you could OTA update to ICS then manually update to JB.

My understanding of how Moto does updates is from version X to version Y. In fact the naming on their update files is the 'from' version number, not the 'to' version.
Because of that, I'd say that you would definitely have to update to ICS before you can update to JB, or the JB update is going to fail.
