[JELLYBEAN] Likes / Dislikes?

Kolio, I upgraded a few days ago and I have the zoom issue as well. I notice it in the stock browser, dolphin browser and e-bay app. Is there still no fix for this? What browser can I use to avoid this? Really driving me nuts. I always scroll from the side.

Also noticed no real improvement in performance. Keyboard may be slightly slower and doesnt look as nice, and battery life seems a little less.

You might want to try CHROME for the scrolling issue. Some may actually like this scrolling "option" & hopefully a fix in a future update will be as simple as checking a box in the setting section.
For myself, it remains an annoying quirk/bug, but, to put a slightly different twist on an old saying :One persons' bug is another persons' feature.

As for the keyboard, I HIGHLY recommend SWIFTKEY.

Unless using stock roms, seems very subjective for feedback since other issues can be involved with rooted devices and custom roms.

The only issues I have with the VZW GS3 is the radio. ICS is fast, so the value add to me would be if the radio works better. That assumes they even bothered messing with the kernel in the first place or if it can actually be improved.

Not long now for JB to be old hat.

Who mentioned custom roms?
I was talkin bout an OEM pushed firmware :)
Ive never had to reset after installing official firmware through the normal mainstream ways ;)

i mentioned custom ROMs...its relevant because its still the same process for flashing...

you're overwriting system data...it can introduce incompatibilities and corruptions...which is why ROM devs suggest that you wipe data first..

its better...the radios have been improved...they have gone through 4 different radios since the first Jelly Bean leak...

Ok sorry mr non-OP
Wish there was a handshake emoticon....

I absolutely HATE that they removed the text and missed call icons from the lock screen. Those were both very useful and I wish the bonehead that thought they weren't needed would write an update to put them back. I'm really unhappy about that.

Verizon, US.

I'm not very phone-tech savvy, but my only complaint (ATT) is that my mobile data toggle is gone from the pull-down menu! I have a widget, but it's just not the same.

Yeah they should have kept ALL toggles, its scrollable!
On mine they replaced driving mode with blocking mode. Luckily i dont drive lol

I found this to be the most dislike part of the upgrade. You can still sweep down from the top and click on the notification to go directly to the message or call, but it was such a time saver to be able to do it from the homescreen like that.

I'm on Verizon here and I still have call durations in the log. You have to click on each call but they are there for sure

Ummmmmm.....

No they are not.

I too am on SPRINT/ANDROID 4.1.1/Stock-unrooted & the call duration logs are NOT present.

There are obviously slight differences of the JELLY BEAN upgrade among the various U.S. carriers.*

*I know this for a fact because I updated my supervisors' SGS III, which is on VZW & even the settings section is formatted in a slightly different manner, so, it's definitely possible for users on one carrier to experience issues that someone on another carrier doesn't.

Yes, call durations on Verizon units with Jelly Bean ARE there. Go to Phone>Recent>Click on any call and it will show you, among other things, the duration of the call.

Must be something that Sprint tweaked out of their update.

I for one do not like the jb update. Here are my reasons:

1. Now I always get Bluetooth window when Bluetooth is activated. Not even sure what it is used for. ICE did not have this.

2. Turning off data always results in a pop up stating that if I turn data off, I may not be able to get emails and such. Well, after the first time I click ok, must I really see this every freaking time?

3. Auto pick corrected word no longer works.

4. Mobile hotspot doesn't always turn off when disabled. Or sometines it takes 45 sec.

5. For some reason Verizon didnt activate blocking notigications (although I found a work around)

6. Sometimes there are delays in typing or doing any task

7. Setting up yahoo/hotmail emails didnt seem to work.

8. Sometimes when I'm calling my vm, when I try and in the vm pass, the screen goes blank right before I can touch the first number. I press the lock/power button to turn the screen on. But again the screen will go black right before I touch the number.and it doesn't matter if I wait 2sec or 40..screen goes black just as I put my finger next to the screen. This &

There are a few others that I have but just don't remember. I really dont like the update.

Apoligies if these are repeats.

Edit: forgot this one as well

9. Use once or use always. Clicking use always ends with a message about clearing defaults. Clearing defaults doesn't help and I still get the message

Main bug ive got (even after reset) is after reboot, my phone defaults back to stock keyboard.
Anyone else?
(I use Smart Keyboard Pro btw)

Yeh, this really irritates me. I've factory reset several times to no avail. It's just outright broken. I now use Android 4.2 keyboard, but the same thing happens with Swiftkey too.

Also happens with WidgetLocker launcher - it forgets the default launcher each reboot. However, it works with Nova Launcher and Holo Locker.

i9300 - unrooted, stock 4.1.2.

My keyboard default works fine but xxell5 broke my widget locker default home too.

Like JB.
got it 5 days now, and quite happyl
feels a bit smoother, richer, more complete.

some quirks I'd like to know about:

1. When I put it in shirtpocket it immediately goes "plik", and lockscreen kicks in. How does it sense that ? couldnt obtain same effect by putting it in jacketpocket or bag.. Somehow the S3 seems to sense: oops, going into shirtpocket, let me lock screen.... Which setting is that?

2. when closing phone-app via exit-button, sometimes (most times?), it takes about 1-2 sec before the icons appear on the home-screen... What causes this?
Too long contact list (1200+), log-lists too long? or too many icons on screen?
Anything I can do to fix this ?

3. I got loads of free apps installed, and some that seem to pop notifications, notably tell me I win an iPad every other day.. how to find which app, how to get rid .. ?

Just minor niggles. Overall Quite happy with my GS3 droid.

The love screen delay is likely SVoice. It takes it a second to determine if you are trying to initiate it. Go into your settings and disable s-voice activation from the home button, and see if it fixes that delay.
