Root Jellytime on DHD - good enough for a work phone?

Haven't noticed any difference in battery life yet from stock. Is there any concensus yet on which ROM(s) is best for battery life?

In general customized Sense Gingerbread ROM's give the best battery life. Official drivers plus voltage tweaks (10-15% below stock).

Those have the official HTC drivers. ICS Sense ROM's and AOSP/AOKP ROM's rely on drivers from similar devices. I think Sony Xperia neo V drivers are used for AOSP/AOKP ROM's.

Here is my battery history if it helps at all Ral. Mine looks far different to yours though so tell me if I've done something wrong.

The spiking is usually the sign of an aging battery. The one in my images is just over five months old. I am guessing your is at 60% or so of full capacity.

When you recharge look at the battery history. I am guessing it gets to the 6th bar or so, than goes straight up reporting full. Update: Sorry, it seems to be displayed in the picture above... but why didn't it reset after reporting full? Unplugged before hitting 100%?

Pretty good correlation between wake and sleep times in yours. Looks promising. Think I will install this ROM again next week. It has been a month since I was last on it. Do you keep background sync on (email, messengers, Twitter or Facebook updates)?

I leave sync on. I ordered a 3000 mha External battery only the other day. Guess I will order a new internal battery.

I hadn't noticed the battery had degraded so much. Its actually a lot better than my old iPhone 4 which started to have the worst battery in the world ever since iOS 5 and got worse in 6.

And this battery gets me through the day with web browsing and music/YouTube.

I am now very excited to see how much time I will get with a new one :D

I'm on Sabsa Prime now but word of advice:

Make sure you disable HW overlays on JT.

The source of most of my problems with that and other JB roms

The "spiking" is not harmful or anything. The battery does not really spike. It is just an issue with reporting.

No need to replace the battery.

Update:

R24 on the way :D

I still want to replace it. I constantly use my phone and want the best battery life possible. I can't rely on the external one all the tie as it will be used for other devices as well.

I feel the same way as you. My first battery is still at about 65% of full capacity and diagnostics rate it as a "good" battery, but I would rather have a new one and get back another 5-8 hours of battery life (based on my own use, mileage varies depending on use).

I do not recommend you swap the new and old batteries back and forth:

1. It messes calibration so you will get wrong battery life readings.

2. If you break the battery cover, it costs as much as a new battery.

Will do. Also: R24 is here!

And from the change notes : new battery kernel driver might help with battery level jumpyness. Hopefully this will fix my issues. Sadly I can't flash till tomorrow won't have time. Anyone who is going to r24 please provide review :D

Edit: Will try this sense ROM out after r24 too. Looks great.
