Root Just getting back to rooting saw r3charged

just curious as to i am just coming back to being a rooted user and saw swagged out and r3charged rom really liking the r3charged one . my biggest fear tho is features not working like voicemail, visual voicemail, dialer stuff like that and the battery life of course if anyone can help me out with these questions i be very thankful and i do apologize if this stuff has been asked before

Welcome back!

If you make a backup of your voicemail app and data in titanium backup and restore it in the new ROM you should have a working sprint voicemail. Also, battery life is mainly based on the kernel you flash. AOSP ROMS typically have more battery life than sense ROMs but each get about the same battery life as the rest within their category.

Flashing a custom kernel such as chop suey or agressive freedom(my preferred) will really increase battery life.

My suggestion......... Make a nandroid and try it out. If you dont like it simply restore your nandroid and it is as if you never tried the old one.

yep the only way really is to read the op's for those roms and check out what they feature and what does not work if any. i think that both of those roms are pretty good. but i like the higher sense based roms. mik3d is a sweeeeeet rom. my favorite for sense. then as far as aosp goes i really like both the xplod and cm7 rom's a lot. best performance roms because they are small in size (sense takes up a lot of room), and the battery life does not even come close to sense in comparison. i can get a whole day or more on just one charge.

but like rxpert says just make a nandroid backup and flash away.

I've been using the EVOlevedROM R3Charged as my go to Sense Rom. It is very fast and I've gotten some great battery life out of it.

I'm smitten with the revolving carousel that is on the sense 3.0 and 3.5 roms.
If you do flash the R3charged rom I would suggest you get the 1ghz zip file from that XDA post that is linked with the download link. The R3charged rom final version was overclocked at 1.2ghz and my phone couldn't handle it. That zip file will take care of it and running at 1ghz it is incredibly fast. You just flash it at the same time you flash the Rom. I would run it without Setcpu or putting a different kernel on it as it doesn't need it.
The Sprint VVM works fine on it with no issues that way it comes.

Wipe really well manually and with superwipe and you shouldn't have any issues with it.

I went a solid 30 hours with a 2150 mah battery. And that didn't have 2 nights in it. I went all day, on all night, on the next day. With a bunch of texting and Gtalk.

Those are my tips if you plan to go with that Rom. I hope it helps. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

i have to add to that. i love the r3charged rom also. i get about 6-8 hours worth of battery with moderate text/calls and light internet, but i live in the boondocks, and work inside a giant tin can, around electronics, inside the giant tin can, in the boondocks. with great service i can run my phone the better part of the day. i also switched out the kernel for one i found on htcevohacks.com that allows hdmi mirroring. my speed has been sufficient on the stock 1ghz. though i wouldn't dare do netflix through the hdmi without wifi and a charger. other than that i've had no major issues with the rom. everything i've tried works. it does get a little boggy with live wallpapers, but not to the point of not working.

Want to thank you all for the info ..will be checking out r3charged tomorrow and thank you for letting me know about the 1ghz ill definatly look for that although first time i didnt see it will have to double back battery life is impirtant to me cause running stock with a 3500 mhz battery i still cant get it to last long with moderate texting and calls thanks again.for the pointers
