Just got another droid...noticable difference

I hope the 12/11 update fixes the loose battery :)

But seriously I'm on 40/09 with a decent battery. I get about a days worth like my storm but feel that I use it more. I had to do a battery pull earlier today for the first time bc my phn froze. I also downloaded and deleted a ton of apps and games tht might not be compatible with 2.0.. so maybe tht was the problem

Am I the only one with a 38/09? I think mine's decent, but then again I don't really have anything to compare it to . With normal use (texting, web browsing, no phone calls), it's at about 50% after about 7 hours. The virtual keyboard does seem a little laggy at times though but maybe it's like that for all models?

I just got a 44/09 and so far the battery has been pretty good. It's been 5 hours and still at 80%. Looking much better than my 42/09 did.

FINALLY! Thought I was the only 38/09 owner on this entire forum!

But yeah, strangely enough, in another thread I talked about how the only issue I'm seeing is that the landscape virtual keyboard lags when I try to type fast. Everything I typed still gets through but it doesn't hilight every key as I press it. I think maybe I'll get a return and get a newer one... when my return date is closer though. Costco gives me a month to return this thing and I figure it's better to get an even later model. :)

I just exchanged my 42/09 for a 39/09 - the battery life on my last phone was horrendous. I was losing a charge in 9 hours without really even using the phone. Totally unacceptable. Charging this new one up right now. We'll see what happens. I don't want to give up but this is now the 2nd return - the first one had a faulty keyboard. Fingers crossed.

I have a 42/09. I had to replace my original model (don't know what the # was on it) because I had a lot of echo during phone calls. Otherwise the phone worked great (although it helped if I could actually use the phone part).

But the 42/09 I have now doesn't really have great battery life. However I'm a real heavy user so I'm getting the same battery life I did with my old iPhone (about 6-7 hours before I plug it in). I really can't go a whole day without charging it at least once. And I've had it run completely dead and then recharged it a couple of times already.

At this point, I'm just waiting for Motorola to come out with the extended battery and I'll buy that.

Whew I was worried myself of being a 38/09.... So far so good. I get pretty good battery life. My only real problem was having to restart the unit checking for my date to reset one of my POP mail accounts that was hung up...

I just exchanged my 39/09 and ended up with the 38/09...I don't know if that's a bad thing or good thing.

So i got my droid on launch day. i really love the phone but the battery life was concerning me. wasn't able to make it through a day with medium use. so i took it into the verizon store and asked what was up. she noticed my connection was dropping intermitently so she updated the cell sites and told me to try that and come back tomorrow and she could do a battery test on it. so i took it back today and had the battery test done (3 hours of waiting) and the battery seemed to be fine but the rep went ahead and replaced the whole unit and battery.

so here is where the interesting part comes in. the battery life on this new unit seems to be a lot better, but also the keyboard clicks A LOT BETTER! in addition to that the screen seems to be brighter on full brightness. so i looked at the version and the first one i had was a 41/09 and this new unit is a 42/09. i don't know if the 41/09 is having issues with signal loss of what but that would deffinately account for poor battery life in the unit.

now incase you guys think maybe i'm just wishing the keyboard feels better i handed it to my roomate (who is an iphone user) and he confirmed it clicked a lot easier and nicer.

just thought i'd put this out there and see if anyone else can confirm this. i haven't had a chance to run it a full day and see just how much better the battery life is but tomorrow i will and report back

lol thats only a week apart from when they were each made i doubt its different
