Just ordered my Connect4G

Hi Connect4G community, So today I got rid of my Droid Razr and Esteem; great devices but verizon was extremely expensive and battery life was horrible with the Esteem and just a bit slow. I decided to side with the Connect($248.00), should arrive either saturday or monday and I'm sure I'll be needing help!

until then... :smokingsomb:

both esteem and connect stock batteries are trash and wont last you through the day without help.

an extended battery is more or less mandatory if you want to be able use this phone for anything other than phone calls and very light media viewing.

are you serious? I figured if the Droid Razr has great battery life-and it's a dual core then the Connect should be similar. About how many hours do you all get? and on an extended battery? I hope it lasts at least a full day

Thanks1

No, it won't last the whole day. LG Connect lasts slightly more on the standard battery than LG Esteem. It is pretty much mandatory to buy an extended battery if you want to use your phone without the fear of losing your phone till you recharge it. My mom's Connect lasted 5-7 hours on the standard battery.

Ouch. You guys need to either try my lg connect optimizer or install a rom... I get about 14hrs average now... that's a whole day, then charge when you lie down for bed.

+1
On my esteem I get a regular 10 hours or more depending on my usage. Just depends on the user

It is easier to get an extended battery. Even 14 hours is still not enough, especially if you get stuck in an area with poor reception. The battery drains much faster then.

Do you switch off your 4G or don't use it at all?

I text and get on opera. Don't turn off my 4g. I use Juice defender running #2 v1.9.1. What else? Let's see.. listen to music. Underclock it to 768mhz on Smartass2 governor

That's why it lasts 10 hours. Don't want juice defenders or underclocking.

Overclocking is over rated *Hipster voice*
But I noticed no difference with it being underclocked.

Juice defenders are overrated!
You do know I was jk, right? Lol
And but to the OP, there are apps that help with battery life. Ex:LG Connect Optimizer(by Kanaida). In the end it all depends on how you use your phone.

After I got replacement and the overheating issue was gone, everything was fine... I unplug at Like 9am and at 6pm I'm like at 15%...... I think it might be a hardware problem

Mine doesn't overheat. I think it depends on how you use. It varies too much depending on how and where you use it.

Esteem is the best!!!!!! And just a tip wen buying a new phone. Read up on AF before yu purchase. My fellow esteemers are the best. It kinda seem like all the optimus m dudes moved up to esteem. Lol the optimus is little as hell haha.

i have to agree with this in a way.

i'd say JD is more of a time saver than a battery saver. JD is more about convenience than anything. all you really have to do to save battery is turn your radios off and back on only when you need them. i have JD ultimate and while i do like it for the fact that i dont have to touch my phone for it to toggle my radios, i would've been just fine with my widgetsoid setup that has toggle buttons for all my radios. widgetsoid is free.

romtoolbox or setCPU is more effective in saving battery than JD with their ability to set clock speeds. RTB allows you to customize and control a whole bunch of other things too. its an absolute must have for rooted users.

I don't like JD because it limits the capability of applications by not letting them to synchronize data in the background. And I want many of my apps to be able to synchronize data in the background. Extended battery fits my needs much better than JD.
