Just updated to 4.4.4 Verizon XT1028

I think it's safe to say that the dialer is opening faster than before.

I haven't tested camera's image quality yet though.

I still don't have the update and I have the Verizon model

It's a staged rollout. I don't know Verizon's rollout plans, but most firmware rollouts take 1-3 weeks, depending on many variables. Just be patient and it will come to you.

4.4.4 update works on Page Plus Moto G

Today I downloaded and installed the update in post# 26 using Phil's Touch CWM recovery with no issues... I am on Boost Mobile Moto G flashed to Page Plus:)

Literally just installed 4.4.4 and so far so good, I have read some reports that battery life isn't as long which would suck.

Glad to hear you guys got the update.

It has been almost three days since I updated to the 4.4.4. It seems the update is not affecting the phone

Motorola announced a broader rollout via Twitter today, so every G owner should be getting the update today.

Some are reporting heating & battery draining issues after the 4.4.4 update. It looks like they are Indian model.

How are yours doing after the update?

BTW, download file size for the MOTO G is approximately 216MB according to my calculations.

We have a slow 1.7Mbps/217KB DSL service in rural Wisconsin. A local ISP calls it Platinum DSL lol.

Anyway, it took about 17 minutes to download the file. So, 217KB x 17 min x 60 sec = 221340KB. 221340 divided by 1024 is 216.15MB. Is it correct? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks! Go Packers! :)

According to my Google searches, it's supposed to be around 167MB. So I guess my download speed slowed down somewhat.

Then again, that's for the Verizon Moto G, so I suppose it may vary depending on the carrier.

If this helps, here's the exact size, pulled from my XT1028 which just updated a few moments ago. It's 181.1MB going from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4.

A bit funny that my VERIZON branded XT1028 is now on 4.4.4 while my unlocked GSM Moto X XT1053 is on 4.4.3 (I understand why, but still find it amusing).

Could anyone tell me what the "updates" or new "features" are when upgrading from 4.4.3 to 4.4.4. Sorry, I did Google but couldn't find much.

Thanks

I believe there is a updated dialer, adds ability to pause during video recording, better picture quality, moto alerts has new features, and basic google fixes that come with 4.4.4

These features came in 4.4.3 (which Verizon didn't get). If you had 4.4.2, then you're getting these features. If you had 4.4.3 already, then you're pretty much just getting the OpenSSL security fix.

Just got the 4.4.4 update (from 4.4.2) in the UK. I've been using ART from the off. I'll keep an eye on battery usage though.

It has been about a week since the update. I think it's safe to say that my G's battery life is pretty much the same.

I've now upgraded from 4.4.3 to 4.4.4 and it seems as though there is just the OpenSSL fix

Hi, i have moto g 16 gb and recently recieved notification to update 4.4.4, but worried about issues which are some moto g users having after updating 4.4.4 i.e battary drain very fast.
Please advise should i update or wait for another notification from motorola. I have already downloaded update but not installed to my device yet.
