I'm not as excited because it won't be Android 5, but I'm sure it'll have some cool stuff since it's a new name.

Whats in a number though? :)

Sure, higher versions jumps are supposed to mean more changes, but that in of itself doesn't make the 5.0 designation "better" than version 4.4

I'd expect to see fewer large updates as android "matures", and more of these sub-point releases. It means android as a whole is getting better :D

At any rate, I agree it will be interesting to see whats new.

I heard a relatively good rumor a long time ago that the K version would require quad-core processing. Then I saw the HTC One, S4 and Moto X launch with quad. So, I figured I was out of luck.

I guess I could still be out of luck. But, if KitKat has features I want and my Nexus can run it slightly slower, I will probably get it.

Just curious: What classifies it as a good or bad rumor?

To my knowledge (although I may be wrong) there hasn't been an android version yet that's got a core requirement on it.

I'd be surprised if it were true

(Although you already surprised me once today with the licensed name:eek: ;))

If someone on the All About Android podcast says "I've heard a rumor" I qualify that as a "good" rumor based on their contacts, overall knowledge, past comments, etc.

If some dude on a bus says "I've heard that Key Lime Pie will require quad-core" that is either me or a "bad" rumor.
